I don't think it should be in the Clubs forum. I condsider dv2 more as a store. You do pay $9.95 to join but you get a dvd for joining. Then it is just like shopping at a store with free shipping and great bargains. I believe that if it was in the dvd clubs forum, people would miss out on these deals. How many would have missed getting V: the Complete TV series for $19.99 if I had posted it in the Clubs forum? I never visit that section.

It's only half a club imo .. from what I read you can cancel any time..you aren't required to buy anything ..but you pay a membership fee..I think it can stay here and not in the clubs forum..

I think it would help some people if they had a link to shop there. Here's one: Columbia House DV2
I'll stick with the regular CH club myself, much better deals!

No matter which forum this thread belongs to, I suggest we work with the OP to keep it alive. Please post new found bargains ASAP just like the ~$6 bargain DVD thread.
By the way, someone has told me that there is no quantity limit on each title a member can order during a full membership year period. Can anybody confirm if this is TRUE? Thanks.

Someone that is a member elaborate on why it is worth it.

All DVDs are suppose to be discounted atleast 40% or more and you always have fee shipping.
Here's a quick blurb from the CH website:
4. How do I earn FunCash?
You'll earn FunCash on virtually every DVD that you purchase from Columbia House. And you can redeem your FunCash for free or discounted DVDs! All you'll pay is shipping and processing and tax in states where applicable. The more you buy, the more you earn! Here's how it works:
You'll earn at least $2 in FunCash for virtually every DVD that you buy. And you earn FunCash whether you make your purchases on the website, via mail or on the phone.
You can then redeem the FunCash you've earned on virtually any regular-priced DVD Club items or already discounted sets, during our year-end redemption. When you redeem, just use your FunCash the same way you'd use regular cash ($1 = $1 in FunCash).
...
7. Do I earn more FunCash for buying sets?
Yes. Multi-disc titles above $49.99 earn you more FunCash than regular-priced DVDs. Here's how FunCash is awarded for sets:
Multi-Disc/Set Price You Earn
$50.00 to $89.99 $6
$90.00 to $149.99 $10
$150.00 and above $12
Please note that since we discount prices on our sets, FunCash is earned on the already discounted price (special club price) you see on the site and in your mailings. FunCash is not awarded based on a set's full-price.

It all varies from title to title though and some are slighty more expensive than at other stores.
Take a look at

Funcash: You get funcash with every order. At least $2.00 in funcash with every dvd purchased. They have certain times during the year you can redeem it. The current period runs until the end of the year. Funcah redeemed on dvds less than 3 discs get applied to the msrp so it really isn't worth it. DVDs with 3 discs or more and the funcash is applied to the club price! I hve gotten Smallville Season 2 for $18.99 and That's Entertainment set for $15.95 using funcash. I sometimes have trouble getting my shopping cart to reflect the correct funcash price, so I just call or email them and they place the funcash order for me.
I am not sure if there are limits on purchases. I have emailed them to find out. Their phone number is 1-800-262-2001

Thanks, I will look into joining tonight. Sounds like even if you don't like it, it will not set you back much. I can find at least one of the freebies I want and several on the $5.95 list. I like TV on dvd so funcash could have potential. Appreciate the post. I also think this is a good thread to have in this forum. I am not much on columbia House because of the hassle, this is more like a normal store.

The 2 Disk SE Civil War movie, GLORY, is only $11.97 from DV2. This is an extra good deal since the lowest other online price I could find was at DDD for $22.06. For some reason, DV2 has the list price of this movie at only $19.95 but they did send me a copy for 40% off that low list price.
Edit to add- forgot to say that DV2 charges tax for Ohio so the total deal to get it shipped was $12.87 (90 cents tax)

Is it correct to assume the cheapest method of fulfillment is approximately $15 per dvd ($9.95 to join and having to buy atleast 1 $19.95 title bringing it to $30 for 2 dvd's)?
Or is the dvd one has to purchase to fulfill not limited to $19.95 titles or above?
