Check out the clubs forum if you want to see how to get SEs such as TGTBaTU and The Great Escape (among many others) at an average price of $5.20 - $7.20. I just applied for a new DVD club membership tonight and this was one of my free enrollment selections.Originally posted by Manzana

Yah, given that you made a spreadsheet to track your "losses," you sound like the kind of person who would have no problem handling the overhead of declining and cancelling club memberships on a regular basis.

I price-matched last night at the White Marsh, MD BB for GBU and the Tom & Jerry set with no problems.

Picked up 6 from bestbuy.
Bring friend they only allow 3 price matches each person
Just out of curiousity, what do you do with your extra copies? Do you give them as gifts or do you somehow make money off of them? Originally posted by 13thmonkey

I already have the DVD but I'm seriously considering going and buying another copy to sell on eBay or something...

This is just...hmmm...yeah...
Is it really worth driving to town, buying something for $6-$8, then driving back home, listing it on eBay to sell for $15-$20, paying eBay fees, etc...?
This is one of those times where you should buy only as many as you plan to keep or give away as gifts, and not go and buy all of them just to make a couple of pathetic bucks.
But, you know, that's just me.

I wasn't calling you the liar. I was calling the best buy employee a liar for telling you that you had to go back to the check out registers.Originally posted by HumanResearch

Those registers that they have at the customer service desks are not "blocked" from checking items out.

I guess those extras could probably make a nice holiday gift.Originally posted by me12321

Otherwise, I can't think of a good reason...other than dumping them on ebay

I quickly checked, and most of them seem to sell in the $12-15 range new, only a few sold for more than that recently. So I would say, no.. not really worth it. If you only got $11, there wouldn't be much profit at all after fees.Originally posted by BrentLumkin

However, you might be able to trade them for something worth around $20.

Umm... Why is everyone going through all the trouble of trying to get other stores to PM? I just bought the SE from Target. Although the shelf tag said $19.99, it rung up $7.50.

They're not satisfied with just screwing the competitor's for $7.50, they want the extra 10% for the pricematch guarantee.Originally posted by no_creativity

PM'd at the Wilsonville Fry's tonight, but it wasn't easy. Was sent to three different people, third guy had to call around to some local Targets to see if it was in stock, etc. Oh well--for $7.50, definitely worth the wait! Also picked up The Last Samurai for $5.50.

A few have posted already that Target didn't have this version in stock. Instead of wasting my time and have the same thing possibly happen to me, I figured I'd just go to a competitor where there is a very good chance the DVD is in stock. Plus, BB is closer to where I live than Target.Originally posted by no_creativity

I just price-matched at a Wal-Mart, and while I got the price, I thought the manager was going to punch me in the nose.
I took the DVD to the cashier and he, naturally, called for the manager. All pissed off like, the manager comes over, checks out the ad, checks the date, then tells the cashier to do it. Then he looks at me and says, "I don't know how they're doing this, but next time I'd go to Target if I were you. You just cost me fourteen dollars." Then he kind of slams the DVD on the counter and walks away.
I got the disc for Target's price, and now I'm thinking about writing a letter or something. I'd have rather been politely refused than have gotten this bitch-fit and the DVD.

You should say something about that.
I'm getting sick and tired of how managers and clerks are acting lately. It's like, so many of them went stupid, crazy, or both.

PM this one and got Hellboy DC for a total of 31.xx at Circuit CIty.
Took it to the register and the guy had to re-enter a couple of times but gave it to me no problem.

You should have asked to speak to his superior (General Manager of the store, if it wasn't him). That is just plain and simple unprofessional behavior.Originally posted by Corvin

Well like I said earlier, when I bought mine at my local WalMart, after they gave me the price match the manager told the cashier to take all of the other GBU off of the shelf so no one else could get it at that price.
I don't know if they ever did though.
