"Let me know if you get $8 for those $5.50 bin ones."

I had 6 of the 5.50 ones. When she scanned each DVD the system gave $8. I remember because she told me what I was getting after she scanned each one.

UPDATE!!

I spoke with a San Diego BB employee, he said they won't be doing the promotion in this area... YET. He knows about it said the promotion is in test markets now, but they believe it will be spreading nationwide SOON. No date, but SOON.

Hopefully it's still $8... I counted up $150 worth I'm ready to ditch. ; ) I wonder if they take HK imports?

Anyone know if any stores in Eugene, OR are doing this (I read that some Portland stores were). I called on Sunday and asked about the trade in promotion, and she said there was a $5 minimum. I didn't ask about any future promotions, starting this week, though.

There are a lot of Anime titles in the system that you could order, but those are the prices for the Cowboy Bebop sessions. Never say a blockbuster employee didn't go out of his way to help you out
Thanks a lot!

Don't know about Eugene, but the Albany store is--big ol' "Trade in DVDs $8" sign right in the front window. Considerably closer to you than Portland, at any rate.

You can special order any items listed in the BB database as long as they are still in print, etc. Some items will be insanely, and I mean insanely overpriced while others are oddly quite fair, there's no rhyme or reason to their pricing methods. If I get a chance I'll try to stop in and grab a price for you on that collection if I get a chance.

Two Questions: 1) What is a PVD?
2) Do dollar store dvds work?

Sorry if these were answered, but I tried looking and couldn't find these two.

Does anyone know where they are doing this in the metro DC area? I've called around and can't find one that is doing it, but I know that someone said they were doing it for the $5 a couple months ago.
Thanks!

I called several stores in Baltimore/Towson area and NONE of those are participating. A clerk in one of the store even told me that no store in Maryland is participating. Damn it!

Deal is going on at some locations around Atlanta. Verified at Jimmy Carter/Holcomb Br. Location and Hwy 20/GA 400 Location. Here was my experience:

1) As long as the DVD was in there system, everything I gave them was $8.

2) The guy only checked for scratches, didn't care about insert, the condition of the DVD case or stickers on the case. (YMMV)

3) Walmart/Target $5.50 titles were accepted.

4) They took back PRV even with the Blockbuster stickers on them which was nice because if you get in on the 3 for $25 deals you basically get your money back in store credit and wait for the next PRV sale.

5) If you have a PRV from Hollywood Video that normally comes in a snapper but Hollywood Video sold it in an armaray case, it wasn't in their system. ie. Cradle to the Grave.

Good Luck!

Just called 3 stores in Fairfax, VA and none of them are partifipating. Doesn't sound like MD/VA/DC are part of this "test" market.

I haven't been to Charlotte in awhile but I believe the one on Indepedence Blvd. might be participating in this, I'll try and find out for you and will post any results I find.

Take it back up there later tonight and ask them to manually look up the title, they are 100% able to and there is no reason why you shouldn't be given store credit for that. You can also trade in movies without cover art or anything at all, just the disc. Your results may vary on the understanding of the CSR at the time as to company policy but the way it's set up to work is we just take the disc only we're suppost to mark it down in the system, if you ask the person politely enough they might let you get the full $8.

I would still swing by and have them scan some movies. I called the store I went to and they didn't know what I was talking about but all the movies scanned in at $8.
