As I posted in another thread - FYE has nothing to do with the rebates, Parago handles them, and they are a very reasonable company. They agreed to let those of us who ordered online (and didn't get a sticker) submit the Star Wars rebate with a photocopy of the UPC to avoid cutting the box.

No sale.

Guys! Let go of it already. If I'm not comfortable with this FYE rebate then I'm not comfortable with this FYE rebate. No one's questioning your manhood for goodness sake; now don't question my discomfort at having an FYE representative tell me in no uncertain terms that You must, absolutely, cut the box.

I'm comfortable waiting until next year and buying ALADDIN SE, 100% FREE, with Movie Cash, to be perfectly frank — a better deal even than this one.

Again, FYE doesn't handle the rebates, Parago does, but whatever....

Hopefully, Aladdin may turn up as a doorbuster somewhere in the Thanksgivings sale next month.

I remember Target had Lion King for $12 during the sale. Other stores had a similar price too

Yeah, I remember a week after I bought it at Costco for $17.xx, I saw it on sale at FYE for $10.99 or $11.99.

I did indeed, and I'm sending in the rebate with the UPC sticker.

MY STEPS FOR SENDING IN YOUR REBATE (I've probably done well over 50 so far)
1. Fill out the rebate form and check off all products on the same receipt that are eligible for rebates.
2. Remove the UPC price stickers from the front of the DVD packaging and place them on a blank sheet of white paper and cut around the borders.
3. Fill out the envelope with a stamp.
4. Make 2 copies of the receipt (one to mail in, one for your records), a copy of the rebate form (both sides), a copy of the UPCs and a copy of the envelope
5. Get another sheet of blank white paper. Staple the left hand corner of the rebate form with your information facing up to the left hand corner of the sheet of paper. Cut out one copy of the receipt and tape that to the right hand side of the paper. Circle the prices of qualifying purchases and the date of the receipt. Tape the UPC Price Stickers to the bottom left hand of the white paper.
6. Make a copy of the white sheet of paper with all the rebate materials on it (write on it the day that you mail it out). Keep the copy for yourself
7. Place that original sheet (not the photocopy) in the stamped envelope and mail it out.

8. Parago, the rebate fulfillment company, will send you an e-mail once they receive your rebate submission which you can track at RebatesHQ.com.

9. Once you receive the rebates, make a copy of it/them and write on it/them the day that you received it and staple it to your copies for the rebate.

Threads like this are the reason I came here and the new ruling that there are to be no 'Best Deal' or 'Best Price' threads is counter intuitive. These threads exisit because there is a value to them, one can discuss several vendors and several methods of getting the best price on a release.

Please see this thread in the feedback forum and post your views on the change in policy at DVDTalk

I started this thread because I was locked in a preorder price and needed to know whether or not to cancel my preorder. DVD Price search is a useful tool, but it can't tell the future. Within a few hours of starting this thread, I got enough educated guesses to roll the dice until the street date. I saved a couple of bucks and got a monkey doll, so sometimes these threads can be helpful. Just my 2 cents.

There have been almost 18,000 view of this thread. How can one feel these types are of little use?
