Its bad when the BB cashiers ask you for the CC or Target ads before even laying down your purchase. Thats how well they know me and my penny pinching ways. So go ahead and at me. It doesn't bother me in the least.
it's best not to brag about stuff like that (oooh, I took 40 of the books, I'm the man). We know that you're not the only one who does stuff like that, but just have the common sense not to post stuff like that cuz it just makes members mad at you.

Saw dozens of the coupon books at my local BB over the weekend. Went in today and they were all gone. Either they were all snapped up (highly unlikely) or BB is on to this.

I asked an employee yesterday where they all were. I was planning on grabbing a couple more myself. His response: "They were only supposed to be available for three weeks and after that we were told to throw them all away." So check your Best Buy dumpsters; dozens of coupons could be sitting in there. I was kinda steamed that all those precious coupon books were thrown out myself....

I picked up about 15 of them from the Columbia, MD Best Buy. There were loads of them left, I don't think anyone picked any up.

I found one (actually several but there was an employee hovering and I didn't want to look greedy) - picked up Lost Boys special edition for $16 and Rabid special edition for $12. Also, the cd coupon worked for the new Ray Charles even though it was on sale - got that for $8. Excellent!

One of my Best Buys had a few booklets left but all had the DVD page ripped out. Had one left from my last trip so I grabbed two "on sale" new movies and a cheapo $9.99 I was waiting to drop in price then headed for the cashier.

Dropped the dvd's on the counter and said I wanted to make sure the discount applied to all. She rang up each DVD then the coupon three times. Came up zero's each time. I said "Guess you have to ring them in yourself", so she did.

20% off sale prices and even the $9.99 one wasn't bad!!

All of my local BB's have none of them. If one of you could be so kind and send me one in the mail, it would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at [email protected].

Best Buy in Pasadena on Fairmont and Beltway 8 has tons of these things. They have so many copies, I've grown tired of taking them.

I saw a display of these in Brandon, FL but saw no 20% off coupon. Are there different Madden 2005 Coupon Books (magazine size) floating around, or is this regional?

Check carefully... I've gotten some booklets that already have the coupon torn out (most likely by other consumers, not by BB themselves). You should still be able to see the perforated edge.

read through this thread. There are pics of what the coupon book looks like (it's a white and black square shooped book). The magazine is something completely different.

I found one today at Best Buy with a page missing. The DVD one was still there.

However, unlike ALL the other coupons, this one expired on 3/6/04.

Whats up with that? They still took it today when I used it though. They didnt even check the date.

I didn't see any books at the Best Buy in Marin City, California. But I had a coupon I got from another Best Buy 30 or so miles north.

As for the people who are getting employees or managers who keep telling you the coupon doesn't scan right. Today when I bought Alias, the cashier scanned the coupon, and bang the computer took off the discount without her doing anything else. Good luck to those of you who haven't used the coupons yet.

The expiration date should be 3/6/05, since the coupon book came out only few weeks ago. Anyway, the register computer will take it, but for only one DVD. The cashier needs to overwrite the price for the other 2 DVDs though.

Are you people just going in and walking out with the coupon books? Or do they ring up for 1 cent?

I took one today and used the coupon to get Clerks X for $15.99. I just put the coupon book in my pocket before I got to the cash register.

Would anyone who has an excess of these coupons (and i'm sure many reading this do) be kind enough to send one my way? I usually would not ask, but they're completely out in my area and I'm banking on the generosity of fellow dvd talkers. Thanks in advance.

Not true. The cashier just needs to scan the coupon more than once... My cashier scanned it 3 times, and it took 20% off of the 3 most expensive DVD's (I was buying 4, and thought it might try to discount the cheapest 3). It was all automatic. The cashier did no manual adjusting and didn't identify which DVD's to discount... The coupon is VERY poorly written, however. Besides the incorrect expiration date, it says "20% off any DVD". It is not plural. The fine print says limit of 3, but a friend of mine was only allowed to get the discount on one DVD because of this...

True. But it's been my experience that if he/she doesn't do this and then totals the bill, then the next best course of action (and what is typically done) is to have him/her go in and do a manual price/discount adjustment so as to save you a trip to customer service.

Of course, YMMV, but for some odd reason, the CSRs here do almost all price adjustments manually, even when I ask them to scan the coupon after each DVD. Weird.

Also, I agree. A very poorly written coupon.
