I got

LOTR: ROTK

I could've gotten more since the selection was so huge, but I resisted.
Those were 3 for $25, or they were repriced under the new structure?

As far as I know, the 3 for 25 is gone, and it's either 3 for 20 or 3 for 30. He probably got them for 3 for 20.

Seeing as I have the Movie Pass right now I was a bit ticked off. Not one VHS copy was checked out. Why the hell are they even ordering VHS anymore if it results in this type of screw-up?
There are some people with VHS machines, I'm not one of them but used to be. I'm sure when they stop moving the place will stop offering them.

As of last Saturday, they were 3 for 25.

There was also a bin for 3 for 20, but those were the crappier titles, like Gigli and Swept Away.

A week ago I bought Bubba Ho-tep, Mystic River, and Something's Gotta Give for the 3 for $25 deal. So as of 8/20 it was still in effect, atleast in the Bothell/Seattle area here in WA.

I went tonight (in Tucson) and 3/25 is back, but the 5.99/7.99 dvds were still marked as such. No 3/20 deal though.

Does anyone know what the actual schedule is for movies being pulled for PVD? I usually go to my local HWV on Tuesday or Wednesday since that is usually when they have put new movies out. However, looking at the release schedule on the website, it looks like new movies are put out to PVD on both Tues. and Sun.

Are there two pulls a week now?

My Hollywood video told me the list is generated on Sat. Night for titles to be placed on sale the following day. Incidentally their web site will mention a very few titles and what the anticipated pvd saledate is. Usually it's about a two week advance notice.
Best
Greg

Stop by one in my area and they'd just put out Jesus Beatdown, Kim Bauer: Ex-Porno Star, Sword of Uma Dos, Alias Girl in "Big", Lara Croft CSI Girl, BUT they only have the R-rated Porno Star and the FULL-SCREEN (WTF?!?!?) R-version of CSI Girl! Pathetic!!!

OTOH, BBV has those two in unrated WS form, but for 2-for-$20. How odd.

BBV has been doing better with the unrated stuff. HWV's algorithm is very simple:

1) Prefer rated over unrated
2) Prefer widescreen over foolscreen

#1 is more important than #2. The problem is that the, once again customer-unfriendly, studios are being stupid and releasing some titles in widescreen only in the unrated edition. Thus, HWV gets the rated edition which is only available in foolscreen and tada you have something like the foolscreen version of Taking Lives.

Nope. But the 3 for $20 on titles less than $10 is great if you like to travel off the beaten path.
