I was at the local Big Lots today and they've added a ton of $5.88 DVDs. They look like a pretty good mix of stuff Wal-Mart has on sale for $5.50 - Eye of the Beholder, Stephen King's Sleepwalkers, Fortress 2, etc. This might be a good deal for someone who doesn't have a Wal-Mart nearby.

Stopped by our local store today and they had a bunch of`low budget movies on DVD for $3.99. The only ones I remember are a Matrix rip off starring Yasmine Bleeth and some of those stupid laugh track movies where they ruin classic movies like Night of the Living Dead.

I thnk he's talking about a line of releases where they took public domain films and redubbed them with a completely new set of lines. Done well, it can be pretty funny. Kind of like Kung-Pow, but not as high-budget.

Many of those same public domain titles are available in DVD from
Pathmark for under $4. They usually have a bin in the drug store area. Some stores are better stocked than others and different stores have different titles.

The only thing I saw at Big Lots that was interesting was something called , '' Attention Shoppers ". The DVDs are set up like the K Mart bargain's......in a carboard box, maybe 20 - 30 discs at my store.

The new Big Lots circular shows the following titles for $5:
The Fan
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Peggy Sue Got Married
Last Action Hero
Casualties of War
Muppets in Space
Godzilla (1998)
When I visited the store last week they only had about 20 DVDs. The only one that even remotely tempted me was Eye of the Beholder. I ended up leaving with a $2 VHS of Prick Up Your Ears.
