I managed to get my CC store to honor it with a printed list, but it took about 5 minutes of the employee just staring at it trying to figure it out. Worth my time to get Vol. 1 for $4.99, and I also picked up Resevoir Dogs.

Tomorrow I'll head to Best Buy and pick up Vol. 2 with the slip case. The employee I talked to said they only had about 50 so I plan on getting there early.

Careful, we'll start a stampede! I noticed that the flyers in Sunday's paper indicated "minimum of 50 per store", so hopefully that's what the employee you spoke with was thinking. Since this is such a minor item (costwise for BB) and likely to generate significant interest, they had darn well better have enough to last for several days minimum. Otherwise, they'll have generated a lot of ill-will over a simple item. Were that to be the case, a number of us might think twice before getting interested in future BB "exclusives". We'll find out soon.....

So, tech, could a person walk in and just buy the case for $.01 at the register?

So from reading this thread either the store got a ton or they got the bare bones amount of the slipcases, guess I should just run out to best buy and grab mine now.

Got mine just now. They seemed to have a lot (more than 50 for sure), but it was rather packed for 10am. Everybody was getting the same thing too. It's a good looking case.

Were they separate from the dvds or packaged together? Could you just buy them separately as well and for how much?

I went to the store in Tyson's Corner, VA and they usually have all the sale stuff out on a table as well as the racks. I grabbed KBV2, Jackie Brown, and the slipcase. Seemed to be plenty of them. They charged me a penny for the slipcase and while I certainly won't argue about it, the ad seems to imply that it would be free.

it appears that they'll charge you a penny if you buy KB2 w/ Jackie Brown, otherwise, it's free if you just pick up KB1 or 2. that's what my receipts say.

So if I order KBv2 and the slipcase online, since the slipcase is backordered, will the DVD ship first or will they ship together? Also, I'm assuming here that they will actually get more slipcases eventually, right?

I shot some guy in the head as he was reaching for the last slip sleeve. Good thing I had my gun on me.

Picked mine up at lunch today. They had at least 3 boxes FULL of these slipcases (it looked like there were a few hundred in each box). There was a box at every location of KB2. They are packed flat, so you have to fold them into a box.
The box is pretty nice....it's as good as most boxes are for repackaged box-sets. The front has the yellow "Kill Bill" logo on it, and the back features a head-shot of each character with their ViPER names.
This definitely secured my $15.99 for Best Buy! Isn't it silly what motivates us to purchase sometimes?

They will ship seperately. I wouldn't hold your breath for the case though. I never received my free book with schindler's list purchase even after getting a letter stating that I would receive it in 4 to 6 weeks.

Look at your receipt.....I bet they either removed the $.01 charge after scanning it along with KB2, or they took away a penny from the $15.99 (making it $15.98) for the DVD purchase.

It seems like I've seen them do this before for "free" items.

No boxes at the Best Buy in City of Industry. The girl there had a sign saying they were out and something about rainchecks. Didn't bother buying it in hopes of getting one elsewhere.

Can someone post some pics of the slipcase? Does it open at top and bottom like a typical slipcase, or is it more like a real box with an open front where you slide your DVDs in? Is it a hard case or a paper thin one?

I can't get to a BB until this weekend.

the Best Buy in Chelsea NYC had them at the register. I think they did this to prevent ppl from just buyin' just the box for a penny.

Why get it for free when you can pay $15 + shipping on ebay?
