He did draw the first H&D, which actually looked decent. Though that was before he developed his "style", and his inker pretty much re-drew everything for him, like feet, hands, etc.

Solid read. I read it in two sittings in one day. I wasn't sure what to expect of the concept of having a city full of anthropomorphized animals, but it stayed interesting and enjoyable throughout. The characters were pretty interesting and it ended in a way I didn't see coming and am looking forward to the next volume.

This was later commented on by Larsen saying that Liefeld chose to draw the "chaos dimension" like that because of one of Larsen's doom patrol issues, but still, you'd think he'd consult the writer at least, right?

Probably the best mainstream superhero comic on the market right now.

Vacation means time to catch up on some books! Unfortunately, air travel means I can only catch up on paperbacks as my Omniboo continue to stack up.

Another '70s compilation that I only read pieces of back in the day. Apparently I picked up two random issues of Daredevil, including the climax of the Terrex saga (with Moondragon and Captain Marvel), so it was nice to figure out what all was happening. I'm enjoying the heck out of the Don Heck art, as I did with his Avengers stuff around the same time.



I've had some struggles with the DC phonebook compilations as I don't think they hold up as well in marathon airplane sessions as the Marvel stuff from the same era. Plus, while I used to enjoy Haunted Tank back in the day, I couldn't read much of that Showcase volume without getting bored. However, I'm giving this a shot, and enjoying it so far. I never read Unknown Soldier on his own, just when he happened to appear in "all-star" appearances with Haunted Tank, the Losers, Sgt. Rock--that kind of thing. It helps that the construction of the stories keeps things fresh (new situation every issue, unlike Haunted Tank always facing a more powerful enemy, talking to the ghost, then figuring out a way to victory), and having Kanigher-Haney-Kubert helps a lot too.



Vol. 4 of this series, which I continue to enjoy. Melodramatic maybe, but involving, and much better drawn than the original Archive Marries Betty/Veronica that it sprung off of.

And when I start talking up Don Heck, I get to some issues by the fabulously moody Gene Colan, though only a couple as the penciller's chair seemed to be shifting back and forth a bit. But I did run into another arc that I hadn't read in full before, a crossover with the Thing in Marvel Two-in-One plus Shanna the She Devil . Bronze Age Marvel did like their crossovers! That got me to wondering whether Ka-Zar or Shanna were in TPB, and it appears there's only one Masterworks hardcover of Ka-Zar, released last January.

Picked it up from the TFAW sale in November. I've always liked Green Arrow and Roy. I honestly feel like I'm more interested to see where they go from here than what the events of this book. Worth the read, but I'll probably never revisit.

Revival Volume 2 (my favorite current book on the market) and East of West 1 (my second favorite current book on the market).

I didn't even know they collected this in trade form. I'm a big fan of Krul, but anything that came out of the mess (post Starman) James Robinson made in JL: Cry for Justice probably isn't worth reading.

I had heard about it and was curious to see what happened to Roy...but it was a weird read. It was like 70% off, so I don't feel like I wasted money or anything. However, it will probably be part of the purge of books if I ever actually do it...

I just finished reading Batman Court of Owls and Night of Owls. I thought they were ok, but not as good as all the reviews I saw seem to indicate. The overall story arc was pretty interesting, I just hated some of the convenient references to things in Bruce's past.

I just wrapped up The Winter Soldier the longest winter and really liked it. Gonna order next couple volumes of it see if it holds up

Also read East of West and Five Ghosts volume 1 and really enjoyed it.

I just read volume 1 of the new 52 Firestorm and don't think I'll bother with more.

firestorm is in my basket for my next order maybe i shall skip this one for now?

I just recieved Birds of Prey and Resurection Man vol 1s I still have to read

I'd recommend against Captain Atom. I like the character, but the n52 didn't do it fo rme.
I also couldn't get into Hawkman at all.

Bomb Queen Deluxe Edition HC Volume 4

Everyone seems to love this, but I just didn't see what was so great. I might read the next volume to see if it is better since the world will already be set up, but with just this one volume, I'd never re=read it.
