Yeah, I'm not wild about it either. Does that mean "I don't know" is a better answer than a bad guess, in which case you're at least trying? I think this may have happened in a recent game, and I didn't make an issue of it because I was crash-and-burning anyway, but it may have kept me from last place. Not totally sure, though.

I'm still waiting on a few sets of answers from people, but i started putting these together tonight just to see how things looked...once i get everyone's answers I'll have a few questions for the group to see how everyone thinks I should score them.

Re: Comic/Super-Hero Sheep NOW!
I'd prefer someone say 'I don't know' rather than resort to google for a question they have absolutely no idea on. That said, I think I only had one question where I couldn't even come up with a legitimate guess and already figured it'd be a zero due to other people at least having guesses, so it's not going to affect me that much either way.

Re: Comic/Super-Hero Sheep NOW!
I don't know should be a zero. Otherwise, everyone could just answer sheep questions by saying "I don't know" and maximize their points. The point is to try and match others with a legitimate answer, whether or not it's a correct answer.

I agree that "I don't know" should be zero points. "I don't know" isn't an answer, so it shouldn't be worth anything. There's one question I answered "I don't know" because I had absolutely no clue, not even enough to make an educated guess, but I don't expect to get any points for it.

Re: Comic/Super-Hero Sheep NOW!
Some games have scored "I don't know" (and variants) together. If we get in a habit of doing that, it will suddenly become a "strategy" for Sheep questions. If I legitimately have no idea, I usually just put something in I want to see a picture of and leave it at that.

So we should just answer "hot naked girls" for everything.
So from now on I will use "hot naked girls" instead of "I don't know"!

Yeah but this is sheep. I would assume that I was not the only person who would say I don't know/no idea. I could see seperating that from a __________ (blank space - which people did answer in SW Sheep)

Jimmy Carter
James Earl Carter

IMO, some of the recent sheep games have moved somewhat in this direction and I think it's a mistake.

Re: Comic/Super-Hero Sheep NOW!
That strikes me as even sillier. "I don't know" is effectively a blank space. I really don't want to get into a situation where the following are presented as different answers to "Name a President":
Jimmy Carter
James Earl Carter
President Carter
President Jimmy Carter
IMO, some of the recent sheep games have moved somewhat in this direction and I think it's a mistake.

to me.. i think uniques are worth 0, but wrong/no answers are worth +1, but that's just me.. that someone came up with a correct answer that no one matches shouldn't be lumped with basically no answer or an idk.

Nah on sheep qs there are no penalties, and I don't believe that should change, as there are no wrong answers, just bad answers. If you do give +1s to "I don't know", then people will just say "My dad" or something, which would get a 0 score anyway. If you give +1 to wrong answers, then you open a bigger can of worms .

Personally, would've also accepted actor names for the Stand By Me question, but that's just me. I accepted answers like "The Voodoo Guy" as a match for Papa Shango and was also very liberal for matching video game names (I matched "Smackdown vs. Raw" with "Raw vs. Smackdown" for example), in the wrestling game.

I don't know should not garner points.
