Yeah I like superheroes(and villains) so I'll never completely go away from the big 2. But I'm not opposed to other kinds of stories either. Eventually something else will stick out to me.

Permabound.

There is actually a second bindery in the same town.

I guess I'll continue on my runs of JL Dark, JLA, and finish out Earth 2 and maybe Power Girl.

Ostrander/Mandrake Martian Manhunter is tempting, I doubt they'll ever collect it at this point. Not quite as good as their Spectre (which I would rebuy in a heartbeat) but still good.

The first 17 issues of that MM were reprinted in two trades last year. I wouldn't write off the rest of them being reprinted just yet.

I have all the Amanda Conner issues, but stopped before the Winick run. I'm not really a fan of his, how was the series when he started?

I haven't read any of them yet. Someone recommended them to me yesterday so when i saw they were a buck apiece I just snatched them up.

I was a fan of Winick's Exiles back in the day but haven't read anything from him since.

About 20 new freebies at Dark Horse. They aren't added into your account unless you load them in your browser/app; various freebies disappear often and won't be in your account for free unless you previously loaded them; they aren't ordered by 'freedom' date but all jumbled in; so I don't know of any sure way of getting them all into your account except by clicking on them all. There must be a better way though; anyone know?

Marvel renewed it's deal with Comixology and is expanding into Amazon's Kindle store; hopefully expanded market will prompt Marvel to release more back issues digitally. I'd heard speculation that with the Comixology contract expiring Marvel might just go rogue and pull away from Comixology; good thing that wasn't the case.

Chew is a great series; I really enjoyed reading through it and the bundle price is a steal. It's a goofy crime thriller with cool sci fi tones; might be over the top for some but I found it had a good zany tension.

Dark Horse Digital also has an Empowered "MegaBootyBundle" that includes "every digital edition":
https://digital.darkhorse.com/profil...gabootybundle/
Edit: DHD added volume 8 to the bundle.

I read part of the first book; it's so far short 4-5 page 'meta' sketches joking about heroes - for example, one punchline is that her panties are showing under her costume or between stories the main character jabbers on about trying to fill title card space and breaking the fourth wall. Some parts are clever and it makes a good diversion but Empowered seems firmly in the comedy category relaying more on short form whit than typical graphic novels... I'm not sure if the format changes more as the series progresses (there is a comment that earlier material is shorter).

Adam Warren has a page of Deviant Art that might give you a better taste of what to expect - http://adamwarren.deviantart.com/gal...4655/EMPOWERED

I bought the bundle as soon as I saw them on sale this morning. I had only read the first collection but I was told that it only gets better from there.

I also got Edge of Spiderverse #2(Spider Gwen).

Some day I'm going to have to slow down my spending on this site....some day.

Well, Dark Horse is up on Comixology. https://www.comixology.com/Dark-Horse-Debut/page/7098

It looks like they're only putting Trades, Omnibuses and other collections on there. I don't see any single issues. I'm not sure if that's permanent or if it's going to change.
Also, No mention of account syncing from Dark Horse Digital.

Edit:
Okay then...

"I know your going to be asked this alot but will my current dark horse digital library be linked to comixology?"
"No, not at this time. But I’ll pass along your interest for sure!"

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Now, all Dark Horse Comics collections, graphic novels, and manga will be available on comiXology the same day the print versions arrive in bookstores.
From Dark Horse's press release. So it looks like they will only be putting collections up, not individual issues.

What a strange (and stupid) move.

Wow, that's terrible. The only people who benefit from that are the ones like me who hadn't purchased yet from Dark Horse.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Dark Horse really doesn't have anything I want. Plus I don't really care for collections and I hear a good chunk of them are in SD anyway.

I did buy Legendary Star Lord 1-5 for a buck apiece. I'd say that's about what they're worth.

fujishig 06-22-15 03:02 PM

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I've heard really bad things about Legendary Star Lord... but for a buck a piece, why not? Also picked up the Thor annual (already had the Avengers issues). On the DC side, before the sale ends (I can never remember when sales end... I would have picked up classic FF but missed it by half an hour) I picked up the rest of JLA, Justice League Dark, and Earth 2 that I was missing. Skipped out on Winnick's Power Girl 13+, but I'm open to a strong argument if the series was decent with him at the helm.

Yeah so did I......about 2 minutes after I bought them. It reads like a Saturday morning cartoon. But not a good one like EMH. But yeah for a dollar it's something to read at work.
