Curiously on Image's website they have a seemingly slightly different offer for $0.99 single issues published 11/4/15 or earlier (fine print says some $3.99 titles are discounted).

Seems it's on generally everything, although some TPs didn't include the discount for me, so there seem to be some limitations.

EDIT : Ok, seems the limitation was for titles released after 11/10/15, so other than that - it's all included, much like last year.

Now that Amazon bought comiXology, when you buy an Amazon comic but read it in the comixology app are you reading it with the comixology interface/software/guided view (or whatever it's collated)? Or are you reading the Amazon comic with their inferior guided view?

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

It reads like a Comixology book as long as it's in the Comixology app.

Interesting, saw it would read like an Amazon book if you read it on a kindle?

Can you please explain the differences in the guided view between comixology, Marvel and Amazon.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I usually avoid guided view, usually zooming in manually or double tapping here or there on certain panels. With Comixology, it actually makes the panels large. With Amazon it barely does anything to them and you can't manually zoom.

If you're in the Comixolgy Marvel app, it works the same way as the regular Comixology app. I forget how it works in the Marvel Comics Unlimited app, it's been too long since I've used it.

I think the folks at Comixology do a good job with their guided view. Marvel unlimited is pretty bad. They often cut off dialogue in individual panels, particularly in older titles.

I guess it's all done manually.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Comixology emailed me a $20 credit in a generic seeming email titled "Happy Holidays from Comixology," check your emails... not sure if this just confirms I've spent way too much on the site or if everyone got one.

Edit: Seems random or user specific; at one point I created multiple Comixology accounts and only my active one got the email.

I got a holiday greeting with no $. I haven't spent anything there so I don't blame them.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I got the email, but no credit. I did get a $10 Rifftrax credit email for no reason. That was cool.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Strangely, I got both emails. First I got the greeting email with the $20 credit, and then 3 hrs later I got the one without the credit.

Comixology probably looked at my account, then their fancy yachts I paid for, and decided there was no need to give me any credit.

Sheesh, of all people not to give a credit to...

This is cool, but the first three Calvin & Hobbes treasuries, the ones collecting two collections each, are on sale at Amazon Kindle for $1.99 and marked as Comixology compliant.
http://www.amazon.com/Authoritative-.../dp/B00FWOKE2I

They aren't actually showing up on Comixology yet, but I'm sure that will be fixed shortly.

Also, fwiw, another freebie.

I ended up getting two of the Crisis on Multiple Earths volumes I was missing as well as three of the Tales of the Batman editions (Archie Goodwin, Gene Colan, and Len Wein--I have Wein in HC, but there are a lot of good stories in it, and it seemed worth $5.99 to have it digitally).

Now there is a line-wide Dynamite sale on Comixology with code NEWYEAR until 1/3.

...I wish these people would space things out a bit more.

Nice catch! I noticed that too in this end of year Image sale and now have another 'best ever' gem fighting for the top of the re-read pile.

Come on line wide Boom sale. Between DC, Image and Dynamite I can really clean out my wish list if Boom joins the party.

Ron, you might want to check the current Boom Humble Bundle, just in case they have the books you want.

I'd love a line wide IDW sale myself so I can catch up on TMNT.
