Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Too add to the temptation - there's now also a Top Shelf sale on Comixology. Sadly (?), it's for a bunch of selected books and not all of their catalog, but there are some good things in there as well. Sale continues until 12/10.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
The weeklong sale from DC is disappointing in that it's only a handful of collections, and pretty much all of them were on sale in singles form recently. The only new to sale-dom books are a few of the older Green Arrow books.
https://www.comixology.com/Green-Arr...Sale/page/8349 Another Top Shelf sale, also ending 10/12/15, has 23 very good collections and an amazing bargain bundle. https://www.comixology.com/Top-Shelf-Sale/page/8354 I particularly recommend the Motorcycle Samurai bundle. Only $3.99 and what I've read so far is amazing. Two freebies are in that bundle, so check them out if you need convincing. https://www.comixology.com/Motorcycl...rai/bundle/773 |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Dark Horse singles are now available on Comixology.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Dark Horse singles are finally at Comixology; but I'm still not buying anything there until they merge accounts. Stuff is cheaper at Dark Horse Digital and I have too much invested over there to re-buy anything at Comixology.
New sale from Marvel on the Original Sin mini and crossovers, unknown duration, 60 singles at $.99 each. https://www.comixology.com/Original-Sin-Sale/list/8538 New collection sale at Comixology on sixteen Iron Man books, unknown duration, up to 80% off. https://www.comixology.com/Iron-Man-...-Off/list/8566 Viz has Naruto on sale at Comixology, including a complete bundle for $229.99, and smaller bundles and single books. https://www.comixology.com/Naruto-Sale/page/8402 |

Dark Horse, on the other hand, more bluntly says "Dark Horse collections will not sync with Comixology" and refuses to elaborate. The thing is, with Marvel and DC collections syncing, the Marvel & DC stores were already running on the Comixology store platform. It was really easy for them to just hit a button and have them merge. DH Digital is a completely different platform and I can see it being a bit of work to get them speaking to each other. ...that is if Dark Horse even wants them to sync. They may not. That said, I've decided that going forward, I'm buying all my DH titles on Comixology. I'll probably pick up some back issues I have already @ DH here and there (especially during sales). |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I hate the blurring effect I get with my Samsung tablet when running the Dark Horse app so I just bought the collections from comixology. Great news that they are now selling individual issues. Going to go run up my credit card now.

There's an all-new Jessica Jones/Alias story up on Comixology for free:

While I would love for that to happen, I don't think it will. Whenever someone asks comixology about it on Twitter, they say "We'll pass on the info that people are interested" and leave it at that.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
New freebie at Dark Horse.
https://digital.darkhorse.com/profil...cters-sampler/ Some of the many freebies at Dark Horse are now in the freebie list at Comixology too. Hitting "add all" will probably get you some new ones. https://www.comixology.com/free-comics A new DC bundle for NYCCC is intriguing. It's basically the first or current issue of their entire line-up. 47 books for $54.99, ends 10/11/15. https://www.comixology.com/DC-Comics...le/bundle/1098 Another Walking Dead sale, this one ends 10/12/15 and includes 23 mostly $5.99 collections and 141 $.99 singles. https://www.comixology.com/The-Walki...Sale/page/8400 That Original Sin sale ends 10/11/15. https://www.comixology.com/Original-Sin-Sale/page/8407 |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Hmmm... should I buy the items I "need" from the Walking Dead sale... or wait a few weeks for the next one?

Bought Southern Bastards #1-10 and Rasputin #2-7 a few days ago for $.99. Jerks! I'm trying to save money here! |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Looks like Walking Dead is back on Kindle now at Amazon, and Image is having a sale there too.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Well, today is sort of a crappy day on the digital comic sale front.
-No new Marvel weekend sale. Looks like the Original Sin sale that went up early in the week is it. -No signs at all of a Dark Horse sale on Comixology. I guess the "Single Issues Now Here!" thing took it's place. Also Dark Horse apparently is not having their own sale, as there is still no sign of one on their site. It's usually up by now. -One thing I did notice though, is Comixology's Image sale is larger than it originally appeared. If you went to their link on the front page (which Trevor linked to on the last page when it went up) you were taken to a page with 11 #1's and 100+ trades. HOWEVER, if you go to Comixology's consolidated Sale Page, which shows all sales currently active on the site, there are two image sections, one with 102 Trades and one with 622(!) 99 cent single issues. https://www.comixology.com/comics-sale It's weird that their main link to the sale on the front page only showed part it of it, but this method reveals a much larger selection. -screwy- |

Not sure if it's the general rule or not, but for "The Fade Out, vol. 2" - I saw that buying the single books is not only cheaper than the TPB, but you also get bonus material not included in the TPB.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
It's fairly common for singles to be cheaper than collections on Comixology I've noticed.
Which is good for me since I only buy singles.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Wasn't there speculation Comixology would announce a subscription service at New York Comic Con? Seemingly nothing so far, maybe that rumor was hot air.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Another sale on Uber from Avatar. This series is now complete, all 29 singles are at $.99 each, and there is a $19.99 bundle. I should have waited for the bundle. Sale ends 10/18/15.
https://www.comixology.com/Uber-Sale/page/8453 Marvel Monday is on Angela: Asgard's Assassin; her six issue mini and issues 622-655 and 626.1 of Journey into Mystery. https://www.comixology.com/Angela-Sale/page/8452 |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
New sale from IDW on comics related to games; 18 collections for $2.99 to $5.99, ends 10/19/15, includes things like Dungeons & Dragons, Angry Birds, and Silent Hill.
https://www.comixology.com/IDW-Game-Sale/page/8445 The weeklong sale from DC is a great one; collections of a bunch of great Vertigo titles like Preacher, 100 Bullets, Hellblazer, Transmetropolitan, Y the Last Man, and American Vampire. They call it their Vertigo 101 sale and it ends 10/19/15. I guess I need to pick up some overtime; 101 $4.99 collections of some of the best that comic books have to offer. https://www.comixology.com/Vertigo-101-Sale/page/8401 |

Wish another Image line sale or Vertigo. Those are the books I read the most.
Pretty much every Image book was just on sale, and now the huge Vertigo sale. |

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I'm pretty broke. Picked up the rest of Scalped, Preacher and 100 Bullets. Also Ebay is running another 20% off iTunes sales for 72 hours. It is right on the opening page. Seems to be a limited amount since the $100 ones are sold out.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Does anyone have volume 6 of Preacher? It says that it collects 54-60 and is the final story, but the series ends with issue 66. I'm wondering if it is a typo, the page count seems way too high for just those few issues.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I have 9 volumes of Preacher on my shelf, but mine are about 15 years old.
