I liked the Bendis DD too. Waiting for the second volume even though I like to complain about too many DD Omnis. I have the Brubaker omni, but I guess I should wait on it.

Only ones I'm interested in are Stephen King's "The Stand" and Miracleman.
Miracleman should include Miracleman #1-7, 9-32; Apocrypha #1-3, The Yesterday Gambit, Sunday Morning Pictures, and all covers and pin-ups. There's even a Grant Morrison Kid Miracleman piece called "The Devil and Johnny Bates" that was printed in a fanzine way back that would be awesome to include...

Have they even announced a Miracleman Omnibus?
Last I heard, they were still debating how to put them out. I figure with how much this whole ordeal cost them, they'll put the series out in a myriad of formats, saving the Omnibus for last.

I am starting to wonder if the Iron Man and FF omnis are mistakes and just normal sized HCs. I did see a Matt Fraction Iron Man HC solicited today. hmmmmm

Yeah, Marvel is just calling it a hardcover:
INVINCIBLE IRON MAN VOL. 1 HC
Written by MATT FRACTION
Penciled by SALVADOR LARROCA
Cover by SALVADOR LARROCA
Iron Man 2.0 is here — and Tony Stark isn’t the one who made him! Ezekiel Stane is on the scene and fixated on avenging the death of his father, Obadiah. Every bit as ruthless and ten times as smart, the younger Stane is all five of Stark’s nightmares rolled into one — and his perversion of Stark’s technology into a weapon capable of slaying hundreds of innocents at a time starts the clock ticking on a chess game Iron Man must win! Then, the manhunt is on! As director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Tony Stark had sole possession of a database that contained the secret identities of every registered hero in the country. But now, S.H.I.E.L.D. is no more. A casualty in the aftermath of the Skrull’s Secret Invasion, the international peacekeeping organization has been replaced by the Dark Reign of Norman Osborn and his newly conceived H.A.M.M.E.R. — a less kind, decidedly less gentle remaking of the legendary security force founded by Nick Fury. With Tony Stark in disgrace and on the run, the orders have come down from the highest level to every mercenary, mobster and Osborn minion: “Bring me the head of Tony Stark!” Collecting INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1-19.
344 PGS./Rated A …$39.99

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see
Hi! I'm new at the forum. Firs of all, excuse for my English (it is not my other tongue).
I've been wondering about this Iron Man HC since I found it at Amazon
19 issues and only 344 pages???? Something doesn't add up.
I've been thinking on pre-ordering it but I'm afraid it might turn up to be not really 19 issues but much less.
In fact, there already exist three HCs collecting those issues:
Invincible Iron Man, Vol. 1: The Five Nightmares (v. 1) 184 pgs, issues 1-6
Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2: World's Most Wanted, Part 1, 152 pgs, issues 8-13
Invincible Iron Man, Vol. 3: World's Most Wanted, Book 2, 160 pgs, issues 14-19
Oddly enough 184+160 = 344, but then what about issues 8-13????

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see
I'm guessing the page count is just off. Each comic is 22 pages, so at the very least this has to be 418 pages (I'm not sure if any of those issues are oversized).

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see
Yes, you are right. But I'm suspicious about the price too. 39.99$ is much less than any other HC collecting 19 (or so) issues.
For instance, the Fantastic Four by Mark Millar & Bryan Hitch Omnibus is, allegedly, 400 pages long and collects issues 554-569. The list price is 49.99$

OK, then I'm suspicious of the number of issues that is collected
Seriously, I find really hard to believe that they will be selling 19 issues in HC for 40$ (much less at amazon and other online sites).

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see
My guess is it's partly viewed as a promotional item, since Fraction's version of Iron Man is the kind of thing that would appeal to fans of the Iron Man films, and Iron Man 2 is coming out not long after.
Marvel has already made money off these books as premiere hardcovers and softcovers, so at this point they might just view money made as gravy.
Plus, it wasn't that long ago that Marvel would regularly put out 12 issue oversize hardcovers for $30. This isn't a huge bump from that.

However, much like Bendis and Bru's Daredevil, I had never read most of the post-Winter-Soldier Captain America, so I couldn't complain too much.
Now which to blind-buy/preorder next... Fraction's Iron Man or Millar/Hitch's Fantastic Four?

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see
Fraction's Iron Man, definitely - it's solid all the way, whereas that FF was kind of a disappointment, not to mention, Hitch leaves the book a few issues before the big finale.

Anything new on the Omni front? I think the last one I ordered was Iron Man back in Nov. Been kind of busy lately remodeling.
Found this thread on the Masterworks board discussing OOP Omnis. Some might be interested.

One of these days I'm gonna pick up the ones I really want, hopefully they'll be reprinted by then. I haven't been reading comics in about 5 years, so I've been out of the loop on these. The big one I want is the Alias Omnibus even if I have all the issues.

I don't get why they don't back to print more often. I sold my Alias Omnibus when the price got stupid for it. I would buy it again, though, if they reprinted it.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see
Each printing run costs them a lot of money. They figure they can sell every copy of a first run, but they've done enough research to know that they won't make their money back on a second or third run (in most cases), so it's just not cost effective for them keep them in print.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see
I don't think the Alias Omnibus is going to be rereleased anytime soon, since they've been releasing the series in a new softcover format.
