Wolverine - Enemy of The State
I just finished Mark Millar and John Romita Jr's take on Wolverine in "Enemy Of The State." I had read the monthlies, but I recently picked up the hardback collected volume from Overstock because I recalled it being quite good. I was wrong; it's INCREDIBLE!
Millar is one of my top 5 comic writers (Wanted, Chosen, etc) and I'm just floored by his storytelling abilities. Add to that the genius of JR JR and dear lord in heaven, we've never seen Wolvie this badass! He's killing hundreds and eventually thousands in this storyline!
Basically Wolverine gets brainwashed by the bad guys and goes on a killing streak, hunting down super heroes. Eventually he gets captured by Shield and they bring him back from the dark side. Unfortunately, he's done some very regrettable things in the meanwhile. Dark, violent things.
We all know how well Wolverine takes to having his head f**ked with, right? He now goes on a revenge mission of huge proportions, eventually enlisting a Sentinel and Elektra!
The artwork is very detailed and lush. I honestly think this is JR JR's best work.
A great comic book storyline gets my blood pumping like no other medium. I hope I never lose that feeling.
I can't recommend this book enough.

big x-men fan here but have only read the astonishing x-men and was considering giving the ultimate x-men a chance someday.
