Not sure what you want them to put in it to make it less skimpy. It's going to be all those flash issues those two worked on. Omnibus, Deluxe Edition - it's just semantics. The only other relevant material is just the Forever Evil and like a few other Flash issues Buccellato did after Manapul left the title.Originally Posted by PhantomStranger
Kind of a skimpy Omnibus at 25 issues.

I like my omnibuses bigger and better, it kind of diminishes what the word means. I understand the main attraction is Manapul's art, so they didn't want to offer a deeper run on the title from when after he left.

Personal preference aside, Omnibus doesn't technically mean big bulky book. The technical definition via Google search is "a volume containing several novels or other items previously published separately" and defined by Merriam-Webster as "a book containing reprints of a number of works."Originally Posted by PhantomStranger

This is an Omnibus of all the Flash with those two as the main creative team. Just like that tiny Devil Dinosaur by Jack Kirby Omnibus is the totality of Jack Kirby's Devil Dinosaur works, all 9 issues of it or whatever. And it's not like the 25 issues here is some paltry number. That's similar to say, the first Captain America by Ed Brubaker Omnibus. (Though with today's choice of thinner paper it will probably look significantly smaller.)
I have yet to read Forever Evil: Rogues Revolution by Buccellato, but Buccellato's story in the Flash Annual and his final arc found in the History Lessons trade featuring Deadman is different tonally than what he was doing before with Manapul. And then my understanding from there is Venditti sunk the title. Past those three Buccellato stories, I don't think you would want to go deeper regardless of whether or not Manapul was still writing and/or drawing, especially since that would just end abruptly somewhere in Vindetti's run (unless you're proposing one book that takes us to the upcoming end of the New 52). And if nothing else, stopping with Manapul opens up the opportunity for a second book with what would be Vol. 5-9 of the regular trades, plus maybe that Forever Evil book. I doubt that's going to happen though, but I guess it can inspire false hope for those Venditti Flash fans.

Update on my order. Came a couple weeks ago but haven't had a chance to really dive in yet. They definitely lost money on shipping to me. Three boxes at 35, 35, and 37 pounds costing $22.17, $22.17, and $23.17 even using media mail.
I'm probably going to start reading Batman by Neal Adams Omnibis I got from Amazon this week before anything else.

Inside the main box are separate boxes as well. Packaging inside consisted of lots of newspaper with the individual omnibuses wrapped up in plastic bags.Originally Posted by kodave

Finding it difficult to resist that price, even though I own them all digitally and not owning volume one would bug me.

Yeah, last month in this thread I was having a running discussion (with myself) about how Star Wars 2 was under $40. I bit, but 1 and 3 have stayed in the $90-100 range.

This is one of those expensive because it's so cheap things, because I bought it, but now I need to get the other two volumes which probably won't ever be that cheap.

60% off dozens of X-Men titles at Cheap Graphic Novels. Oddly, they don't seem to include the classic runs of old and new X-Men, just a lot of stuff that came afterward.

And my LCS appears to be taunting me about the Star Wars Omnibus #2 I bought.

My LCS has had a copy of volume 1 and volume 2 for the longest time. Full retail price of course, so they will sit there until there is some sort of deal, or they go out of print.Originally Posted by davidh777

Hamilton Book has put up 9 new pages of stuff since mid-January, when a lot of us were discussing them: http://www.hamiltonbook.com/products...h=Start+Search
Great prices on a couple new Absolute's, there are some DC Archives, a Tales of the Batman, a lot of Farscape, etc.
I ordered COVER STORY: The DC Comics Art of Brian Bolland HC, and that just arrived looking great, in it's original shrinkwrap. Also ordered INFINITY INC., VOLUME ONE: The Generations Saga HC. Unlike previous batches of DC books this one was not shrinked (though it may never have been?). The condition seemed pretty good, though some cover wear/light scuffing was obvious. No remainder signs though.

I did see they'd added new titles, just because they sent me a physical catalog that I happened to skim through. I got a Captain America Epic Collection, the Marvel Frankenstein TPB, and The Sequential Art of Amanda Conner, which I heard was just a random collection of stories, but that's OK with me. Plus that Infinity Inc. and a couple others.Originally Posted by Strapped4Cash

I thought about getting the Archie Goodwin Tales of the Batman but I already have it digitally and am now a tablet owner so maybe I'll actually read it now.

They have the two Freddy Lombard volumes for like $4 each. I bought them a few years back because they looked like Tintin clones, and I liked the first story but not so much the others.
