Batman - not a bad start by Morrison and Kubert, enjoyed having Bruce Wayne being encouraged to get back to establishing himself back into the socialite setting, and retreating from being Batman all the time.
Action - I was a little confused by the auctioneer plot, but it's definitely living up to the "action" theme for the title, even with all the guest stars, and the lingering questions amongst the super-powered heroes on whether Superman is really Superman.
Supergirl - oy, what a mess this title is nowadays. I think I will stick with the current storyline, but jump off at its conclusion.
Still need to read 52 (the Isis issue, judging from the cover).
Also picked up Jack of Fables, Strangers in Paradise, and Astro City (for my friend, for whom I pick up his books, but sometimes will read them before passing them to him).

I bought Jack Of Fables. This is my first intro to the Fables world. I guess that title is still being published concurrent with this new one? I liked it pretty well. Had a Prisoner vibe.
Batman was a great read for me. Mine is coming from DCBS, but I picked up my friends copy for him since he is in Scotland for 3 weeks.
Mangaged not to sneak a peak at his 52s this week and last since I have those coming and havent read the first 2 of the month. Very hard to have the willpower.
Also read his Nightwing. Can't wait for Marv to turn this thing around . . .
gawd . . .
Black Panther Civil War Cease Fire was an impulse buy. Kind of a waste of time - although I know a lot of you think the whole tale is a waste of time, I'm still digging it. Couldn't tell where it fit in the Civil War continuity. I guess before Issue 2 or 3. I suppose I was more interested how these wanted superheroes got out of the USA undetected.

Going into Civil War, Marvel was very clear to say that they were going to write both sides equally and let the readers decide who is right and who is wrong. Does anyone feel they've done this? The Pro-registration side, and especially Iron Man, have come off pretty badly so far. Granted, I'm not reading everything, but still.

Yeah I agree that they are definitely painting the pro-registration side as the bad guys, but there a very few on the other sides it seems. And I wasnt to thrilled with the ending.
I'm not sure Wolfman can save Nightwing, its so bad and I'm usually pretty forgiving. I just hope that DC will keep Jason Todd out of anything Bat related for a while

52 - 3 subplots (Renee and Charlie, Ralph and Cassie, and Black Adam and now Isis) were paced well, felt like I got some movement in the stories. The 2-page WW origin piece was far to short since Adam Hughes was providing the art.
Jack of Fables - a good start for a lead character with charisma and daring to spare.

Also, as far as 52 is concerned I still don't think we need a "Batwoman" as long as we have "The Huntress".

Why spoiler? Isn't she on the cover? Anyway, do you mean the comics? Assuming this is the same character then no according to this site.
She was part of the Shazam!(Captain Marvel) tv show back in the 70's.
From imdb.com
One of the few TV super heroes not derived from a comic book. However, D.C. Comics published a short-lived comic book during the show's second season.

I just read the 18 issues so far of Runaways volume 2, and it started out well, got a little off-track with 2 fill-in issues, and then a Cloak-n-Daggar arc, and then a solo issue on Molly that seemed to come out of nowhere in terms of flow, and then the final storyline didn't quite finished yet (I thought the 2nd volume would also end at 18 issues, but I was mistaken). But overall, still a good read.

Don't get me wrong, I love the New Blue Beetle and I think he has tons of potential...but what the fuck is going on in the comic? It's confusing as hell and it's only on issue 4.

I think it's a tough job for Marvel though, because it's definitely easier to be sympathetic to the rebels---you've got a bunch of noble, self-sacrificing heroes who haven't done anything evil, and they're being hunted down and arrested. It's hard not to take their side. But that being said, from the few titles I"ve been reading, I think they're doing a fairly good job of making some valid points and arguments for both sides. I'm curious to see how things work out when the villains start taking major advantage of this whole thing.

Anyone know how to properly use the ... and the -- in comics? I'm reading a comic that uses both to make pauses in the dialog, but it uses both inconsistently. Any idea if there are "rules" to their usage?

Nevermind, I figured it out. I was confused because a lot of the dialogue is written using "streetlingo" and "slang".

I am seriously thinking about starting to buy comics again. I just don't know if I really want to though. What does everyone do with the books when they are done with them? I mean besides collecting because I truly have no desire to build a collection especially since I tend not to reread them.
I guess first off I need to pick up a copy of previews to read and see if anything catches my eye. I don't know if any shops are even open locally anymore.

Ooooh, that's the "fun" part. You get to buy longboxes and then you get to try to figure out where to store them. I have one full box and a stack of read comics waiting for me to to buy a new box. I'm in a smallish apartment so I'm dreading what's ahead. I have a friend who literally has boxes lining an entire wall from the floor to the ceiling.

The new "drawer boxes" are pretty cool sounding. Have never bought them or seen one in person, but sounds like a good way to stack boxes and still be able to look in each one.
