I thought I'd heard it was going to be several series, and I havent heard anymore on that. Probably seeing how this one sells.

It seemed like they sarificed Gideop's character a little bit in this episode to try to give a little more dimensionality to Garcia. Personally, I don't think it was worth the trade ....

Saw this on www.thedarktower.net and about crapped my pants in horror:
Marvel Characters to Appear in Dark Tower Comic Series
New York City, NY (AP) - In an effort to entice comic book readers unfamiliar with Stephen King’s The Dark Tower novels, Marvel Entertainment announced today that legendary Marvel characters will make cameo appearances in the comic book adaptation of the series.
“With so many universes intertwining into one world, we at Marvel feel that we can integrate popular Marvel Universe characters into the world of The Dark Tower while maintaining the integrity of Mr. King’s works,” commented Joe Quesada, Editor-In-Chief and CFO or Marvel Entertainment’s Publishing division.
The first issue of the planned six-part installment will appear in February 2007, originally pushed back from a Spring 2006 release date. The books, adapted from a seven-part series referred to as King’s “magnum opus”, centers around Roland Deschain, the last gunslinger of a deteriorating world.
Wolverine, arguably Marvel’s most popular character, is set to make an appearance in the first issue.
“Roland’s world is filled with what are called ‘slow mutants’, so we figured it just made sense,” Quesada said.
Series artist Jae Lee is also excited about the character appearances.
“Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to sketch Spider-Man in a Marvel book,” Lee emphatically remarks. “And choosing Eddie Dean to replace Peter Parker as Spider-Man’s secret identity is simply a brilliant concept.”
Other characters slated to make cameos in the series are The Thing, portraying a Beam Guardian, and Mystique as a love-hungry Oracle.
“We are very much looking forward to the story arc where Jake Chambers is revealed to be the love child of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman,” Dan Buckley, Marvel Publishing’s COO commented. “It will bring an entire new dimension to the Marvel Universe.”
Stephen King could not be reached for comment.
Then I saw that this update was posted 4/1...damn that "holiday" can get on my last nerve...

Wow I love the look of the pages Marvel.com has posted, but I don't want to get hooked on comics again
. Still I will pick this up assuming I can find a comic shop still open here in Tampa. Two of the larger ones closed in the last 2 years.

I'll pass on the individual issues and just pick the inevitable hardcover once it's been completed.
And I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that King himself isn't writing the actual script. I'm not sure how well King's wordy and descriptive style would translate to the comics page. There's definitely an "art" to writing good comics; one which requires the writer to leave many of the storytelling choices in the hands of the artist.

It's a shame that Roland is always portrayed in a duster since, over seven books (other than possibly during his YOUNG ROLAND DESCHAIN CHRONICLES trip to Mejis), he's never once mentioned as wearing one. It's evocative, I'll grant, but inaccurate.

Gotta invoke that 'man with no name' image.
Free? Where do I get one? Will book stores have them, or do I have to hit up a comic book shop?

My local comic book shop was sneaky SOB's, yesterday they asked me if I wanted the Dark Tower sketchbook (I have the series on my sub list already) before I knew it was for free and luckily I said yes. It seems shops did not get alot of them and so they have to limit who gets one, after I said yes I was informed it was FREE and that was cool! Art looks great and I can't wait for the series!

Or just wait for my brother to get it and borrow from him like I did the proper series. Looking forward to this, just not enough to play the monthly game.

The title was on the Diamond List last week, but now it's just disappeared. I still think it's next week though because if you go to Marvel's website they actually have a countdown clock to next wednesday at 12am, when some comic shops will be opening at midnight to sell the book.
I saw the cover price of $3.99 listed someplace and I was a little disappointed that it would be so expensive, but then I read that there will be NO ads in the book - just 48 pages of story.
