My problem with Liefeld is the simple fact that he traces other people's work, down to the page layouts. It's not an "homage," it's tracing. He should have had his ass sued off. With how feverishing Miller protects his work, I can't believe he didn't do it.

As for upcoming books, I find myself looking forward to the next issue of Justice. Marvel's House of M is falling flat. The limited series and the Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and Iron Man spinoffs aren't that bad, but the crossover issues with the rest of the Marvel universe suck. The idea of these crossovers used to be to get you to read the books and get hooked on them... Secret Wars 2 got me to read Power Man & Iron Fist along with several other books. Now you have no idea what's going on in the book if you don't regularly read it, so you have no incentive to pick it up past the crossover issue.

And now there's some new crossover series that's going to spring out of House of M. This is going to turn out to be a year-long crossover at least.

Speaking of year long crossovers, what about Infinite Crisis? It's better than House of M, but that's not saying much.

Supreme Power ended last Tuesday, and that was a shame. Sure, they're running 2 new limited series for Hyperion and Nighthawk, but what next? They teased pretty much all of the Squadron Supreme, but will they have a new series afterwards?

I'm liking the House of M Fantastic Four and Spidey limited series much more than the main thread. That being said, the first 2 or 3 issues were pretty interesting. I do love the Alex Ross covers though.

Just read the new BPRD...should be another interesting series. Guy Davis's artwork continues to grow on me.

I haven't read 220 yet but I've been noticing a lot of that since I've come back to Comic reading.

Given the way #219 ended, I was a bit disappointed. I thought 220 would deal much more directly with how 219 ended than what it did. The current issue dealt with more direct WW subplots and not the expected greater DC universe events I was hoping for. But, the last two pages made up for my disappointment with what preceded it.

Yeah I believe Supreme Power is rebooting this coming winter sometime (like February maybe?) after the mini series are done. It will be a non MAX title when it starts up again. I don't plan on picking up anything beyond that last issue of Supreme Power that came out. I'm done. Marvel can stick the reboots up their asses. From now on, a new #1 issue of a regular series = me dropping the book.

Well...unless its punisher.

By "rebooting" Supreme Power, does that mean doing like a volume 2, similar to Ultimates? Or does it mean a whole new continuity?

I just read the Supreme Power Spectrum trade, and was pretty disappointed by it. I hope the other spinoff minis are better than that.

The new Supreme Power series will keep the current continuity (just without the nudity and cussing). I believe the Hyperion mini will lead into it.

That Spectrum book was really bad.

rogue588,

amazon's got the GP book at 34% off, FYI. that may be the best deal. i just noticed that the ship date for this is 12/14 and it's from dynamic forces which means it could be alot later.

From Newsarama:
Keith Giffen will be serving in an advisory capacity on the overall storyline, while providing breakdowns for the issues; Geoff Johns, Greg Rucka, Mark Waid, and Grant Morrison will shoulder the writing on the series; Alex Sinclair will step up as 52*’s primary colorist, and J.G. Jones will provide all 52 covers. The finished art teams are still being assembled.
We're off to a good start.
They're having Giffen serve in an advisory capacity? Isn't that a bit like having Roman Polanski serve in an advisory capacity over the Manson Family's next project?

I was wondering how giffen got in on this. Was it the strength of his recent not-the-JL stuff? Because while I like him as a writer (I think I was one of the few to really like the bleak rebootedLegion he did), he's not really the "big name" writer I'd expect DC to put over this. (Not to mention I'm still a little ticked at his "adaptations" he does for manga at Tokyopop)

Dammit!!!

I went to pick up my order from last week with this week's order and the guy says, "I think WW #220 is missing. Yeah, we didn't order it and when we went to pick up our other orders the supplier was out." WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!? Now I've got to special order it from another shop. There's so much going on in the DCU you simply can't not order issues for customers!! What's wrong with these people?

Honestly, I think most of the guys in there are more Marvel fans than DC fans so DC stuff gets the backseat. They did this to me on Firestorm too.

SIGH--

I may have to stop using this store....

That sucks. I'm sure that means the graphic violence will be toned down as well. Was any reason given for this idiocy? Is JMS still doing the series, or is he done now?

Here is a lengthy article about the whole thing. Basically, JMS and Gary Frank will remain the creative team but its going from MAX to Marvel Knights in hopes of reaching a wider audience. BLAH.

http://www.newsarama.com/forums/show...threadid=32912

So after this, how many MAX titles are left? I'll tell you this right now, if they EVER drop Punisher from the Max line and turn into a PG-13 book, I am DONE with Marvel alltogether.

Why bother? I'm tired of Marvel trying to reach a wider audience by "cleaning up" or dumbing down their stories. Why not try marketing the damn thing or trying to pull in non-comic readers instead of ruining the story?

Yeah and from the people I have talked to at the comic shop I go to, I'm not the only one who is dropping book after book of Marvel titles from my pull list. Way to reach a wider audience!!!

Yeah, but do they deliver mint comics? If I knew I'd get comics in amazing condition, I'd love to save that kinda money.

If you pick bags and boards to be included when you order, they're about as close to mint as you're going to get. All the comics are then put in another bag so tightly they don't move. Then put into a box with a boatload of peanuts. I've never had a single comic arrive in any worse condition than the best condition comic I got when I shopped at my comic shop. Is that enough of an endorsement yet?

You can even place a one month order to try them out. You don't have to order again as orders need to be redone monthly. Therefore, there's no need to "cancel".

We've had this discussion. Pull the trigger and switch already!
