Yea! I got my AXM in the mail today and I loved it. I actually don't like Cassaday's work that much on Planetary, but his work on this and those first few issues of Captain America was amazing. Maybe I just like the colorists better on those books. I think somebody from Crossgen is doing the color for AXM and Crossgen had some great colorists.
I'm not sure who's fault it is, but I didn't like the initial transition to the parallel storylines at the end. Once I understood it though, I really enjoyed the pace. It kept things interesting and exciting.

1300 pages and free shipping for $27.20? Sold!
Edit to add: here's a preview pic. I doubt it's the actual picture, it looks a little fake. But, it gives an idea of the size we're talking.

I worry the binding on that sucker would just fall to pieces after one read -- some of my Cerebus "phone books" have done that. Otherwise I think it's an awesome project!

You know what made me come back to comics?
The New 'What If...?' series.
If you don't know what I mean, pick up an Exiles book. With MAYBE Strasczinsky's Spider-Man being a close second. I'll read those until they cease to be. Ezekiel's such a cool character...I hope they don't turn him bad, but it looks like it. May needs a beau.

Where would you guys suggest I start if I want to get into the Spider-Man and X-Men books? I'm completely lost with all the different titles. Plus with the high issue numbers, where do I jump in so I know what is going on?

My advice would be to read Marvel Knights spiderman, it is only on it's second issue, and is written by Mark Miller. Also if you wanted to try Ult Spiderman jump on the internet deal with the first 3 HC's for $40 deal.

http://www.milehighcomics.com has a 50% off sale right now if anybody wants to check it out.
Pros: free shipping at $40 and above. Some trades are well-priced.
Cons: single issues aren't all that cheap. Even with "50% off', it's still about the same as what I get from Midtown on a daily basis. The selection isn't all that great.
But, picked up Sleeper tpb, 30 Days of Night tpb, a few Rex Mundi issues, the first two new Dead@17 issues, the first two Bite Club issues. Just enought to get free shipping with a $40.25 total.

If anybody is interested adventurersrealm.com is selling the DelOtto Variant cover for Astonishing X-men 1 for coverprice or below if you register their. I saw they also have 1st printings of action 812, and Secret War1 for cover price.
I've ordered from them before, and although their shipping policy is weird, they pack and bag/board the comics really good, and get them out fast.
http://adventurersrealm.com/iis_stor...X-Men&det=1%20(Cover%20B)&price=2.99&ship=0&ship2=0&handling=0&tax=6%%20PA%20Sales%20Tax
