Check back in 20 years, and Bendis/Bagley will seem just as dated as Lee/Ditko, and without that handicap, I think Lee/Ditko will win.
Oh, I'm sure the Bendis/Bagley run will be very dated in 20 years, but in the here and now, I still prefer it. I would agree with you that the Romita Sr era books are some excellent stuff. My own most fondly remembered period on Spider-Man is the run from about 222-250 with Stern and Romita Jr, which were the first books that really wowed me in terms of story and art as a kid. I really didn't like Ron Frenz' art after that. But it wasn't nearly as bad as Al Milgrom on Peter Parker <shudders>.

Dark Victory was the other Loeb-Sale Batman book I meant, now that I can see it on my shelf at home.

I think he was referring to Dark Victory. Don't forget, they also did Superman: For All Seasons.
