Any Of These Comic Book Artists Still Working?

I've been away from comics for a couple years now. Recently, I've gone through my comics again and forgot how much I enjoyed collecting books from certain artists. Are any of these artists still working in the business, either on current books or future projects?

- John Byrne
- Frank Miller
- George Perez
- John Romita Jr.

They're all currently working in some way:

Byrne is doing a Superman/Batman 12 issue maxi-series
Miller finished up a sequel to Dark Knight Returns a while back
Perez is doing a JLA/Avengers cross-over
Romita Jr. is the monthly artist on Amazing Spider-Man

I'm sure they're all doing or going to do other stuff, but that was just off the top of my head.

Byrne is also drawing an upcoming JLA arc written by Chris Claremont.

Miller is rumored to be working on another Batman story, this time a black and white graphic novel.

I haven't read comics in years but this thread got me curious about Norm Breyfogle (sp?). He did the art for Detective Comics and Batman back in the early 90's. I loved his stuff. What's he up to?

Norm did Spectre for DC up until earlier this year. Don't know about lately though.

All are curently working, Chew got it right, Perez is still holding it down lovely as evident in the JLA/Avengers series, the art is great. Byrne is still great but his inking has faltered a little bit, he needs to stay with a tight inker. Romita jr. till is solid, Miller , to me, had the biggest stumble with Dark KNight Returns, it did sell but was so horrid in its story and art, even the coloring was amateurish. Defiantely hunt down 300(now in collected form), that is classic Miller and really recent, as is his SIn City work.

While not recent, you might want to look into his run on Mailbu's Prime, which was a pretty great book. I'm sure you could grab the whole run cheap on eBay.

About the only thing I have kept up with is Frank Miller's Sin City. I even purchased 300 when it came out. I did get the first issue of DK2, but still need to get 2 and 3. I've read mixed reviews of DK2, but it's Miller so I must buy it.

I'll get the JLA/Avengers mini-series soon because I think George Perez still has the touch. John Byrne, on the other hand, needs someone to ink his art. His work on Superman was so much better than Next Men and these runs were only a few years apart. I think the inker played a big part in that.

I'll pick up some Spiderman issues soon because I've always been a fan of John Romita Jr's style. Glad to see he's still drawing ol' webhead.

FYI, DC is rereleasing his run on Superman in Trade Paperbacks. The first volume reprints his "Man of Steel" 6-issue limited series (this was the series in which he revamped the character). The second volume reprints the first three issues each of the post-revamp Superman, Action Comics, and the Adventures of Superman (that last one is written by Marv Wolfman with art by Jerry Ordway, but the other two are Byrne writing and art).

How about news on Paul Smith? I enjoyed his run on the X-Men back in the 80's. Very minimalist, before the Rob Leifeld roid freaks became the rage. Looking at some of Chris Bachalo's artwork reminds me a little of Smith's.
