Spiderman - New York Issue
I saw in USA Today that there's going to be a Spiderman issue that "deals with" the events of Sept. 11.
Does anyone know when that issue will be available?

Kids were terrified by this real event and Marvel wants to have them relive it? Sure, there's a time and place for these events to be noted, but it's certainly not now. Yes, I know alot of the Marvel U exists in a fantasy "NYC", but it's just that, fantasy.
As I recall, the WTC was already knocked down a few years ago in a Marvel comic, I forget which one though.
Way to make a buck Marvel!

From reading the review of the issue at www.herorealm.com, it sounds really corny...all the villians are upset over the action - even the Juggernaut, who knocked down the Twin Towers back in Spider-Man #16/X-Force #4 (I think those were the issues)...he didn't seem too concerned about it back then.

It was actually pretty tastefully done. EDIT: I guess the Juggernaut WAS in there... you can see his shoulder and his back. I don't care much for the villains page generally.
It was pretty tastefully done, and they had to address it at some point. They chose to use their flagship character to do it. I'd also imagine that any "buck they made" on it was probably lost when they published the "Heroes" tribute book for charity.
Here's a couple of pics from it:
Here's a link to an article by the artist talking about drawing the book:

That's actually a really poweful image. Seeing the "heroes" helping out makes sense, and it seems to be pretty tasteful. No worse than all those books about terroism and the posters for the TTs that are floating around, as far as "cashing in" goes.

Finally read this today... Have to say I pretty much "liked" it, if one can "like" a book on such a horrific subject - to me it worked better than the pin-up tribute book "Heroes" because it had more of an actual story to it – and despite my qualms about having superheroes and something so tragic and real in the same book, the excuse that the heroes just weren't there for it, they can't protect us from everything, actually worked pretty well. Also it had some freakin' gorgeous artwork from John Romita Jr.
