Jerry Pournelle, R.I.P.

Co-author of one of my favorite novels, Inferno.

Not very familiar with his solo work, but growing up his collaborations with Larry Niven were favorites of mine in the 70s and 80s. Maybe my favorite is their first, The Mote in Gods Eye.

This is sad news. He and Larry wrote one of my favorite novels: Lucifer's Hammer. Sad news indeed.

Dammit. He was such a creative author.

Inferno should be required reading.

Sad to hear that, I had no idea who he was until he started to appear with Leo Laporte on TWIT, etc years ago.

Mote in God's Eye is brillaint the sequel which I think is called Footfall was really good too.

Mote might be one of those books that could be considered impossible to make into a film.

The sequel to Mote In God's Eye is the The Gripping Hand and it's a steaming pile of crap.

But I've read Mote In God's Eye two or three times.
