What We Talk About When We Talk About Love, by Raymond Carver
The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck
Blood Meridian, by Cormac McCarthy
A Good Man Is Hard to Find and Other Stories, by Flannery O'Connor
The Call of the Wild, by Jack London
Hell's Angels, by Hunter S. Thompson
Rabbit, Run, by John Updike
For Whom the Bell Tolls, by Ernest Hemingway
As I Lay Dying, by William Faulkner
Slaughterhouse-Five, by Kurt Vonnegut
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, by Ken Kesey
A Confederacy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Toole
Women, by Charles Bukowski
Heart of Darkness, by Joseph Conrad
The Shining, by Stephen King
Moby Dick, by Herman Melville
Lonesome Dove, by Larry McMurtry
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain
The Road, by Cormac McCarthy

I know I've read all of these. There are another dozen or so that I think I read at some point, but can't honestly say for sure.

Heh, thanks.

But it is a male-centered list, and perhaps more disappointingly, a was-a-great-movie list. I would expect more from the Esquire of the past, but not now.
