I think I prefer the first, if only for the newness of the supernatural/noir combination. But I really enjoyed The Wrong Goodbye. It's a little more of a road/buddy story this time out. I blew through it in a little over a weekend, like I did with Dead Harvest - and I rarely ever read a book that quickly when not on vacation.

On the recommendation of a friend, I started this last night:
Granted, I haven't gotten too far yet, but it was gripping from the get go.

How long did the cover artist spend on this? Three minutes? Five?
How was this? Baldwin released a non-fiction book about his time in Paris. I've read excerpts which were interesting. He also runs The Morning News, which I consider a must-read site (although it overlaps a lot with content on The Atlantic Wire).

It's well written and the general premise is good. The concept of memories being different based on perspective is interesting, but it wasn't executed well enough into the story I found. Overall I wasn't immersed into the story as much as I'd hoped. There's enough good in the book that I'm willing to give his next fiction work a try.
