I'm on the same book, after finishing All the Pretty Horses, The Road and No Country for Old Men. I am on a Cormac kick right now.

Anybody have suggestions for other books with similar feel as The Road or NC4OM?

I haven't read any other books but Diaz, but I did enjoy this one. It's witty and feels real... and Diaz has a way with words without trying to come off as too clever. There's a language barrier in a few spots (at least for me), but it didn't interfere with his meaning.

Winchester's Atlantic is really interesting so far. It's not in depth, but covers enough ground to give you some idea of what to read if you're interested in learning more.

I don't read non-fiction all that much, but try to read all of Winchester's books. I haven't read this one yet though -- look forward to.
