It's okay. I thought it was a little ponderous. Lots of time is spent making sure the reader understands the in-jokes.

Finished The Keep, but because I don't have books 2 (The Tomb) or 3 (The Touch) of the Adversary cycle, and they just introduce characters (Repairman Jack and Dr. Bulmer/Dat-tay-vao) that they reintroduce nicely in the final book of the series, I'm now reading Reborn (what some have called the actual sequel to The Keep):

Funny, yet frustrating. She really needs a tougher editor as she tends to ramble on for too long. Could easily be cut by 50 pages. She also tries too hard - trying to pack in something funny in every sentence. Again, a proper editor is needed.
