I'm with you. The Poet is an excellent book.

Without going into spoiler-y details, what didn't you like?
I read a decent review of her new book, and I saw this one at the library so I snagged it. Haven't cracked it open yet...

Re: What are you reading? (May 2009)

I have been tearing my way through the Kim Harrison series. Right now I am on the newest one: White Witch, Black Curse.

I think it is a pretty good series. If you like the Laurell K. Hamilton books or the Jim Butcher books (particularly the Harry Dresden series) these are very much in the same vein. They don't have all the sex that LKH has in her books so if that was a put-off for you it might be worthwhile to scope these out.

Recently finished reading The Brass Verdict (Michael Connelly) and listening to Cell (Stephen King). Cell had a really great narrator.

Now listening to:

And giving this a try:

Second time. I read it a few years ago and couldn't remember much about it so I wanted a refresher before the movie came out. Surprisingly, it was a very quick read, probably because I read it before. Things get pretty convoluted at the end, but I enjoyed the majority of the book (moreso than The Da Vinci Code).
