Reading Mad Ducks and Bears by George Plimpton. Been in the mood to reread some of my old favorites lately. Just reread Snake by Ken Stabler a few weeks ago. I wish I was alive during that era of football. Today just doesn't seem to compare.

I really liked that one a lot. I thought Forever and Brother were decent at best though. I know they are short weekend reads, but the other two could really use more depth. I also thought he took out a lot of what made the first book work. Anyways, I'm on to Needful Things now. I can't get off this bestseller kick.

Many thanks

Before I tell you what I am reading this month I just want to thank all of the people who post in this section. I have utilized many of your recommendations and have a long wish list at Amazon.com .

I just finished The Road and I am now reading Into the Wild.

Just finished Chuck Palahniuk's "Invisible Monster"...pretty boring for the most part. And I could see the big twist coming a mile away. The last four books I've read have been Palahniuk's, so I'm going to give him a rest for a while. His style gets a little annoying after a while. And the only one I've enjoyed was Survivor.

Next Up:
"Seventh Son" by Orson Scott Card

Father and Son by Larry Brown. It's an amazing book so far. Looking forward to reading more by him.

Golden Compass. Wanted to see what the fuss was about and at least in the first book there is nothing but an enjoyable fantasy tale. I have them all on my PDA and will hopefully finish them before the end of the year.
