Simon Winchester
Does anyone here read Simon Winchester? I swear he writes the most interesting books on the most fascinating topics.
Over the weekend, I picked up his most recent book, A Crack in the Edge of the World about the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
The other books I've read are Krakatoa, The Day the World Exploded and The Professor and the Madman, about all the madness and mayhem that went into the making of the Oxford English Dictionary.
