Flashback: The Dark Knight Returns

I was just thinking of this graphic novel last nite, and how it pretty much changed my life, because I didn't know then comics could be sooo good. Or movies for that matter (it's pacing influenced very much the movies I liked from then on.)

Anyway, just remembering. Good times, good times

I remember thinking of how the Joker looked like Danny Elfman from Oingo Boingo when he realized The Batman had resurrected and was given new hope. New hope for indiscriminate murder!!!! A chance to be punished or (maybe even) stopped.

Wotta great comic.

The Dark Knight Returns was nothing short of groundbreaking. Saw a copy of the TPB at a used bookstore recently and allllmost picked it up, but I can't spend much of anything right now.

Didn't Miller make The Joker a homosexual in TDKR?

Yeah, I was really pumped about DK2. The first issue was mildly tolerable, but after that it just became like a really bad satire of the original masterpiece.
