I am currently reading Swift's Gulliver's Travels.
The book is actually easier than I thought given the 18th century prose, and pretty damn funny.
Next I'll probably read Thackeray's Vanity Fair, then see the film.

Yep, a thumbs up here as well! One of my faves.

Currently reading both Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser--which to this point has yet to make me rethink my consumption of fast food, but we'll see-- and The Diving-Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby.

I have a pretty strong stomach when it comes to eating but after reading Fast Food Nation, I couldn't bring myself to eat fast food or buy meats from the grocery store for a few months. I don't know why the book had such an effect on me! Thankfully it didn't last too long -- I could only eat salad and shrimp for so long... Hmmm... now that I'm getting fast food cravings every once in a while, maybe it's time to reread the book?

I just finished Songs of Susannah. Now I can finally participate in the spoiler filled Dark Tower thread. Woot!

Also, The Wreck of the River of Stars was EXCELLENT. A very touching and sad tragedy, which I should have guessed by the title. I finished it a few days ago and I still feel a bit melancholy when I think about it. It's slow paced, character driven science fiction. It's also a slower read then most light material, though not as heavy as some, and some parts are a bit repetitive on some points, but overall I highly recommend it.

Just started Christine by Stephen King.

Up next is Lullaby by Ed McBain

Then I plan on jumping into the Lincoln Rhyme series by Jeffery Deaver.

Currently going through the last pages of "Songbook" by Nick Hornby.

Next: "Survivor" by Chuck Palahniuk.
(I need some fiction after three biographies (Motley Crue, Motorhead, Anthony Bourdain) and Nick Hornby's collection of his favourite songs)

A few weeks ago I finished The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis.   Now I'm starting Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley.

I recently read that book. It's good, but Huxley's style is a bit odd.
An interesting read, and just begging for a film adaptation! I hear that the 80's TV version is good, just hope it gets released on DVD...
