How is it? I bought it a couple of days ago, and am going to read it as soon as I finish Dicken's Oliver Twist, which I am presently reading.

The Buzzing by Jim Knipfel. About half-way through and it's very cool. It's the first book of his I've read and it won't be the last.

I recently have read the Gunslinger series up to The Wolves of Calla.

I needed a break from that before starting Song so I picked up JOe R. Lansdale's The Two-Bear Mambo.

It was my first Lansdale book (I'm almost finished) and I must admit, I'm mighty impressed. I really dig his style. I'm gonna have to find some more of his stuff, including Bubba Ho-Tep.

Fortunately, he'll be at Baltimore's HorrorFind convention this year, so I'll probably be able to load up there.

I finally got around to reading the Harry Potter books... so far this month I've read the first four and hope to finish the 5th by the end of the month.

Don't ask me why its taken this long for me to get started...

Finished The Two-Bear Mambo. I was a little disappointed in the ending, but I think part of it was I felt it ended too soon. I enjoyed the book as a whole, though.

Just started Matthew Warner's the Organ Donor.

I've been on a sci-fi kick this month: reread Martin's SOIAF, Jordan's WOT, Rowling's HP series. Now I'm two-thirds of the way through Katharine Kerr's Deverry series...

I think next month will be horror... there's only so much I can take after saturating my mind with sci-fi. Any horror suggestions?

</small>These days I'm struggling to read a book a month, down from a book a week a few years back and a couple a week before that. How on earth do you manage it?

Last week I picked up The Bastard King by Dan Chernenko. The book wasn't too bad. I picked up the next one right after finishing it, and it seems a little better. Better than most fantasy I have read lately.

Just finished Neal Stephenson's The Big U last week. The first half was a satirical look at University life. I was about what you would expect from an author's first book. The second half was a deranged acid trip involving professors shooting giant rats with ak47s and students roaming the building in a tank. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure that most people would.

Both Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment and Dicken's Oliver Twist are great books although there are other books I do like better from both authors...

</small> I used to say that!

Hope you now let that injury heal and will be ok in the job market following your recovery.

Every cloud has a silver lining: your "to read" pile will be that much smaller by the time you are, er, up and running again!
