Just finished Ten Little Indians by Sherman Alexie
Starting The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. LeGuin (Eugene's "reading in the rain" book. It's a group reading kind of thing--she's in town for readings etc, so I got mine signed and am going to hear her speak at a writer's forum tomorrow.) tasha |
I just finished reading Neal Stephenson's The Big U. I was a little bit apprehensive about reading this even though I'm a huge Stephenson fan because it was his first novel and even he admits that it's not up to the standards of his latest novels.
Now that I'm done with it I can honestly say that the writing itself was not quite on par with his later stuff, but the story and ideas portrayed in the book were just as great as anything in Snowcrash, the Diamond Age, Cryptonomicon, etc... Still haven't read Zodiac or Quicksilver yet but I will. Right now I'm debating whether to start reading Battle Royale by Koushun Takami, or Darkspell by Katharine Kerr. |
Just finished Right From the Heart by Phil Valentine. Now it's time to finish Atlas Shrugged.
|
I recently finished reading Middle Class Dreams by Stanley Greenberg.
|
Finished 'The Silmarillion' and all of the LOTR Appendices.
Currently about 2/3 though Martel's 'Life of Pi' and not really liking it too much. |
I'm still reading O'Brian's Master and Commander. I'm taking my time since the nautical terminology is killing me - I read slow enough as it is sometimes and this doesn't make it any better.
