ASIMOV's (robot) short stories
I'm currently building up my foundation/empire/robot novels and I need some advice. I want to read the robot short stories first as a primer but I don't know what collection to get.
Does The Complete Robot contain all the stories from I, Robot? On a side note, does it also contain his non-fiction robot essays from Robot Visions?
What about Isaac Asimov: The Complete Stories? I don't mind getting his non-robot short stories, but does Volume 1 (can't find info on any other volumes) contain any/some/all of the robot short stories?
There's so much overlapping in these compilations, it's a bit confusing.

The Complete Robot used to consist of I, Robot and The Rest of the Robots. I don't think it even had the short story "The Bicentennial Man."
The Foundation Trilogy won the Hugo Award for best series before they made the award an annual event. Good stuff. I didn't read the later add-ons.
If I were you, I would start with stories and novels with original copyrights from the 1940s and 1950s, without worrying what universe they take place in. Asimov kind of declined when he got old.

I wonder where the Robot City books would fit (or Robots & Aliens.) These were a couple of shared-universe series. There is also a multiple author short story book called Foundation's Friends, and there are several robot novels (by Asimov or others) such as Caliban, Inferno, etc.
