I'm finishing "TAKEN". Yes, it's the same story from the Sci Fi channel mini series....It's your typical Aliens/conspiracy/military BS story where the Aliens want to get to know us.
Nothing new here.
I just started a promising book called "DHAMPIR" by Barb & J.C. Hendee.
I'ts about a half Vampire/half Human con artist and her half Elf partner.
"A mix of The Lord of the Rings and Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
Says Kevin J. Anderson author of Hidden Empire.

Just finished T. Jefferson Parker's Silent Joe - wonderful, multi-layered mystery.
Next up, not quite sure...
Might be one of the following:
Robert Crais' Monkey's Raincoat
Michael Connelly's The Black Echo
an undecided Thomas Perry novel

</small>Well I finished Book One and Book Two and now waiting for Book Three!
After a false start in February, I have now very nearly finished Iain Banks' "Feersum Endjinn" and have decided next to embark on the two Clarke Award nominees that I've recently mentioned in another thread.

I remember reading a book about the Zodiac killer a while back.
It was pretty good. Just can't remember the author's name.
Is this the same book, but updated?
The book I read was one of the best true crime books.
The best was Two of a Kind: The Hillside Stranglers, by, Darcy O'Brien. A very, very disturbing book

I just finished Affluenza by John De Graff last week. I'm currently reading At a Theater or Drive-in Near You : The History, Culture, and Politics of the American Exploitation Film by Randall Clark for myself as well as trying to get through Magical Urbanism by Mike Davis for class.

Finished Gone Baby Gone and what a depressing ending that was.
I also finished The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Although not my normal type of read, I thought the book was very well written. However, I did dislike the ending.
I've moved onto Psycho by Robert Bloch.

I read this book last night, in four hours straight.
My goodness. The third-worst case of child abuse in California, so it says. And it's so disturbing, I had a trouble sleeping afterwards. I couldn't help feeling so sad and angry for the boy's situation. I hate everybody in his family .. and I really, really hate his mother (I want her dead! Is she dead already?).
My heart goes for Dave. In his writing, he tells me how lucky I am to have my family. I can't wait to read the story continues in "The Lost Boy" and "A Man Named Dave".
