I suppose, but sometimes they limit it to one item depending on how long the line is.

I just started Mystic River myself. I've already read 2 of his books and I enjoy his work.

Try to sneak them both in if they'll allow it. He's a pretty nice guy (from what I remember in the signing I went to) so hopefully the bookstore people are cool too.

I loved Mystic River but haven't really felt inclined to read his others. Is there one that's as good as Mystic River?

Mystic River was his first stand-alone. He had started off his career with a series (which I have not read, but am eager to do so).

BTW, it was great to meet him last night. Very friendly and entertaining. Talked about his "Hollywood" experience since Clint Eastwood is adapting Mystic River and Wolfgang Petersen will be adapting Shutter Island.
