Detective/Mystery novels set in Vegas?
Does anyone know of any P.I. or Mystery novels that take place in Las Vegas (present or past)? Thanks!

Stop it you're stealing El Scorcho's idea!!
I believe the working title is "The Stubbie Dick In Vegas: The Buffet of Death". It'll be the first of a 100 Stubbie Dick books that take place in Vegas. The Stubbie Dick is El Scorcho's hero gumshoe who is remarkably similar to El Scorcho. I believe in the first installment, Stubbie Dick is at the Bellagio Buffet in Vegas when suddenly the lights go out, when the lights go back on again all the food is gone, all that remains is a dead dog shot in the head. Footprints of an unusually large beast are found leading away from the crime. I won't give away the ending but you'll enjoy the cameo by kvrdave.

You know, you'd think there'd be more of them. I'll tell ya, though, there ain't a lot.
Here are a few that I can think of:
Michael Connelly - Void Moon
Michael Connelly - Trunk Music (based in LA, goes to LV)
Robert B. Parker - Chance (based in Boston, goes to LV)
James Swain - Grift Sense (and sequels)
William Goldman - Heat
Charles Fleming - The Ivory Coast
Brian Rouff - Dice Angel
Michael Ventura - The Death of Frank Sinatra

Too bad ES will never see this. After all, this is the book forum.
