I don't know about "best" but here are a few:-Something that has worked in the past is for people to post in the Other forum something along the lines:
"Do any recent Australian vacationers or "native" DVDTalkers have ideas/recommendations for my trip?

I am travelling to Australia between x and y dates and expect to be visiting a, b, c, d & e.

Any tips as to where I should go and what I should look out for? What about bargain accomodation, seasonal events etc. etc.?"

As an Australian, I'd like to point out that we're pretty bloody friendly on the whole... so don't hesitate to ask someone if you need help, most of us will do what we can.

I never thought that I would like reading a travel book so much. I laughed my butt off. What a great writer. Highly Recommend anything he has written. If you get it - good choice. I think I was laughing by the time I finished the first page.

I'm reading In a Sunburned Country right now, and enjoying it thouroughly. I'm still not sure I'll ever visit Australia.

I was in New Zealand in December and used the Lonely Planet book for there. I highly recommend it. I thing Lonely Planet was originally published in Australia, so I suspect they would be the best bet for that country as well.
