Braddok, when the Anne Rice Vampire Series starts to go down hill (in a book or 2) be sure to take a look at Laurel K Hamilton. Good stuff!

This past month I have read: Arthur Golden - Memoirs of a Geisha; JK Rowling - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, John O'Hara - Appointment in Samarra and Chuck Palahniuk - Choke. Really loved 3 of the 4 on that list. The less said about the other, the better.
Currently reading Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie.

Heh, I just finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha last night, fantastic book. This month I also read the latest Wheel of Time book, and Cloud of Sparrows by Takashi Matsuoka. The latter was much better than the former.

Black Echo and Black Ice by Michael Connelly. Up next will be Concrete Blonde and on down the line for the immediate future. Also noticed on Harlan Cobens website he will have a new one out in April. It will be another stand alone, which makes me wonder if he doesn't want to do any more Myron Bolitar novels. So far I have just read his two latest, Tell No One and Gone For Good. I'm still trying to find his first couple Bolitar books at the used book store, but the few they get go quickly. I'll probably just have to break down and buy them full price somewhere!

I heard a while back that Harlan Coben was going to return to Myron & Win after this most recent standalone (NO SECOND CHANCE). I hope he doesn't change his mind.

As long as he is writing good stuff is the main thing. I thought his two stand alones were pretty good. It's when writers like Sanford and Cornwell try to do other stuff than Davenport and Scarpetta and it doesn't come off, is when I start wishing for them to return to their regular cast.

Just finished Dean Koontz's Ticktock - thought it was ok. I haven't read much of Koontz, so I thought I'd give one of his works a try. The book didn't start off so well, gained momentum half-way through and sort of petered out near the end.
Next up, Laurence Shames' Florida Straits.

Tick Tock was not one of his better ones. If you decide to try him again read Watchers, Mr. Murder, Dark Rivers of the Heart, Intensity, Lightning, or Whispers. I'm sure I'm leaving some out, but Tick Tock was pretty much a sub par example of his work.
Reading more on Cobens website, in his FAQ section he says that when each idea comes to him for a book if it fits for Myron, it will be a Myron book. If not then he won't do a Myron book just for the sake of it. Kinda sounds from that like there will be no guarantees on when the next Bolitar novel will come.

The series is good through QUEEN OF THE DAMNED and then peters out very quickly.
Oh, and as for me, I've just started reading 'The Company' by Robert Littel. I also picked up a copy of Pelecanos's 'Soul Circus' today - might use it for a little bit of light bedtime reading.

Finally finished the fourth Harry Potter book Friday(picked up all four books when I was in Ireland in early January.). Great stuff.
Finished The Fallen, by Dale Bailey last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Gonna go back to House Of Chains, by, Steven Erikson, fourth book in the Malazan series. For some reason I couldn't get into it when I first started reading it.
Speaking of fantasy, any word on A Feast For Crows? Is there a release date?

Boy, am I a low-brow reader.
Just finished King of Torts (fun and an extremely quick read).
Working on Shrink Wrap (can it be called a book if there's only 15 words on each page?)
Next up: Chasing the Dime

Dave C, I agree about King of Torts, I only wish I hadn't finished it so soon.

I don't read half enough, need to find more time, I am still getting through John Readers- Africa a biography, it finally got interesting, reading all about the geology, and the 1st tribes etc was tough going. Now that the Europeans and asians have started visiting Africa it is starting to get interesting.

In the past few weeks, I have read:
Killing Pablo; Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden (Killing Pablo was a great quick read and BHD was amazing, I had been putting it off and it exceeded my expectations)
The Janson Directive by Robert Ludlum (great novel to end a storied career)
I have just started Masters of Death: The SS and the Invention of the Holocaust by Richard Rhodes (I can't help it, I love to read about almost anything in regards to WWII)
