"Sin City" Recommendations

I just finished reading the Sin City TPB "A Dame To Kill For" and really enjoyed it. What would a "Sin City" fan recommend I read next?

Probably the first one "Sin City" or "That Yellow Bastard."

I didn't really care for the "ADTKF" follow-up "The Big Fat Kill."

Publication order is as follows:

Sin City
A Dame to Kill For
The Big Fat Kill
That Yellow Bastard
Family Values
Hell and Back
Booze Broads and Bullets

Booze Broads and Bullets is actually a collection of shorter works that appeared in various places, mostly as one-shots. I think it was published between Family Values and Hell and Back.

The books can pretty much be read in any order, though.

All of them. Seriously though, the first tpb, was just amazing. I actually just got finished readed "The Big Fat Kill" and I enjoyed it a lot. It's probably the only direct sequel in the Sin City series. It basically follows the characters and events after "A Dame To Kill For"

Was That Yellow Bastard the one where
Spoiler:
Marv got fried
?

Also, what book was the one with Blue Eyes in -- was that an exclusive Sin City book or a Dark Horse compilation?

Nope, that was the first volume of Sin City.

Blue Eyes is in one of the short stories in Booze, Broads, and Bullets...I don't remember which one specifically.

I really liked The Big Fat Kill. I prefer Dwight, personally. Reminds me of Brad Dourif.

IMO, Sin City, ADTKF, and Yellow Bastard were the best...though I enjoyed BFK and Hell & Back as well. I didn't much care for many of the short stories in BBB and I haven't yet read Family Values.

I guess I'm the only one who didn't like The Yellow Bastard. The best are Sin City and A Dame To Kill For. To Hell and Back and A Big Fat Kill were my second favorites.

It's also worth reading The 400, the story of the Spartans' forlorn hope.

Not quite. It's just called "300". Great work with color by Lynn Varley who also worked with Miller on DKR among other things.

300 is one of the few comics that I would consider to be "epic" story-telling. Everything about it is just amazing: the story itself, the art-work, and I love how the pages are set up so that they go the long way across, as opposed to vertically. Definitly "widescreen" comics.

Jeez. There were even fewer defenders than I thought.

There was a hardcover version of 300, double wide. Each page was the two page spread of the comic version. Looking at the 4-page spreads, it was obvious that Miller had composed the comic with this "widescreen" version in mind.

Yup, that's the version I'm talking about. You can usually find it for around $30 retail. Every time I page through my copy, I'm blown away by it.
