Looking for a good Revolutionary War book.
Are there any books about there about the Revolutionary War written in novel fashion similar to the Killer Angels? I have read Last of the Mohicans (I know that was French/Indian wars), but never really noticed anything else in that period.
Thanks

Actually, Michael Shaara's (author of Killer Angels) son, Jeff Shaara wrote a Revolutionary War fictional novel called The Rise to Rebellion
Hope that has the DVDTalk referal in it.

By the way. Shaara has written a sequel to The Rise to Rebellion.
It was just recently released and it's called: The Glorious Cause
I haven't read either, but I've order The Rise...
hope it's good.

You might want to read Gore Vidal's Burr. It's not a Revolutionary War book, per se, but it touches extensively on the era. The present tense of the novel is Van Buren's time, but the protagonist is editing Burr's reminiscences, so there are vivid portraits of Washington, Jefferson and Hamilton. It's a wonderful novel, as are all of his historical books.

I am currently reading Rise to Rebellion and I am going to get The Glorious Cause. It was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the suggestions. I will look into Burr also. I am always willing to try an author I have never read.
Thanks again,
Tony
