There have been books written that were called Necronomicon, though. I had a copy of one in high school-- probably this one-- http://half.ebay.com/cat/buy/prod.cg...856&meta_id=1. Careful with the book, though. I loaned a copy to a guy and now he's DEAD.
(Of course, that happened months after I loaned him the book, and the running a stop sign at 100ish MPH on a motorcycle with no helment and hitting a car MIGHT have contributed to it...)
