Is there any point? There'll be nothing from Best Buy, nothing from Target, nothing or close to nothing from Walmart, Amazon never advertises in advance and just matches other people. I can't even see where the deals might come from, unless Gruv takes the lead.

There are a lot of boutiques that participate. Don’t know if I need to see a spreadsheet or whatever, but it’s nice to see what people find off the (over)beaten path.

Most of my haul was from the smaller labels and their sales. Pretty nice stuff too.

I just copy and pasted last year's text. There was no master spread sheet last year either so if something doesn't pop up this year I will discontinue that portion. As for sales I think pretty much everyone else besides Target and BB will have things on sale. This year I gotta remember to double check Raven Banner and Scream Team Releasing.

Do we know that Best Buy and Target won't have movie sales? I know their selection is store in somewhere between not much and nothing, but they could still have shippers just for BF.

Pretty sure BB does not carry movies any more. The website has nothing and my local store doesn’t either. Target at least still has a small media section.

Highly unlikely. No physical media left at my local Best Buy and Target. I mean zero.

Target will likely have another B2G1 sale.

Target did say something about holiday shippers when they first mentioned reducing their media footprint. We’ll see what happens. I’m more optimistic about promotions on target.com and their app, and the B2G1F sale that dex mentioned above is a near-certainty.

2024 holiday prices aren't any better so far than 2023 regular prices!

So Amazon will price-match them. Hopefully, they will again include a few coupons for some movies included in the B2G1 deal.

And it is not looking good.

I have a feeling we aren't getting many $10 or $15 4K UHDs this Holiday season.

Less choices among retailers and production shortages in BD replica plants in Mexico and just an overall decline in interest in owning hard copies of movies.

That's my sweet spot for 4K UHD purchases, and I've gotten 7 already, all from Gruv so far with their 3 for $30 and 2 for $24 sales. I'm just going to be quicker on buying this year, if I see something I want in the $10-12 range I'm not going to wait and see if it goes lower.

Tremors 7-Movie Collection Blu Ray - Amazon. I am very excited to find this set and it comes with digital copies! I love the direct to video films in the franchise and they are increasingly hard to find to view even on all the ad-supported streaming services that are out there.

Not much for me so far: Violent Night (UHD), the complete Teen Titans, and the complete Legion of Super-Heroes.

I’m sure I’ll get more, such as with AnimEigo’s looming sale, but I’m horrifically backlogged and am not especially itching to load up.

My one and probably only big purchase. I got the Rocky 6 film collection on 4K for $75.

Wasn’t going to do much this year, but had to bite on:

Honestly, other than a diminishing quantity of movies, Black Friday has gotten more and more meh every year. I saw NOTHING (non-movie items) that I needed to go buy.
