Re: BLACK FRIDAY/HOLIDAY - 2022 Haul Thread
So is this the year BLACK FRIDAY died?
It's two weeks away and there are no full ads out for Walmart, Target, or Best Buy.
Walmart looks they might be doing some of kind weekly sales, but they have received little promotion and even less interest. We were out doing our grocery shopping the other day and my wife mentioned that they had some their (pre?) Black Friday deals out in the middle of the store. I either missed them, or I didn't register what it was. No stacks of in-store flyers to be seen at the entrances.
So far, nothing from either Target or Best Buy other than TheBang's list up there.
And I'm not even talking about DVDs and blu-rays. There just seems to be nothing being promoted from the big chains.

Re: BLACK FRIDAY/HOLIDAY - 2022 Haul Thread
I'm sort of tempted to pick up those Led Zeppelin and Van Halen LPs just to get the backstage press replicas.
But I already have all of them on vinyl I got from Columbia House back in the 80s.Then I think that I'd be paying over a hundred bucks for what amounts to handful of index cards, and come to the conclusion that I'm losing my goddamned mind.
The "black ice" vinyl on the Pantera GH comp sounds like it might be cool, but the tracklist is really sparse. If it had their cover of "Cat Scratch Fever" on it, I'd snap it, but at three tracks per side over two records, I might as well just play the full albums.
Same with that MCR album, which I don't see on the Walmart website, but eBay tells me it's on jalapeno green vinyl. The tracklist is also kind of -meh-.
When these bands like MCR, Pantera, and GNR only have three albums -- or three good albums -- having a double-LP greatest hits with a dozens songs doesn't have much appeal.
I mean, it's like, last year I almost picked up the Walmart exclusive "Diary of a Madman," then thought that I already have an 80s pressing of it and I also have a copy of it on splatter vinyl in that big Ozzy boxed set, and I put it back.
I'm really at a point where I'm not going to buy an LP I already own just because it's on ocean-blue swirled vinyl with purple glitter sparkles.

1. Fake Your Death
2. Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us
3. Vampires Will Never Hurt You
4. Helena
5. You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison
6. I'm Not Okay (I Promise)
7. Ghost of You
8. Welcome to the Black Parade
9. Cancer
10. Mama
11. Teenagers
12. Famous Last Words
13. Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)
14. Sing
15. Planetary (Go!)
16. Kids from Yesterday
17. Skylines and Turnstiles (Demo)
18. Knives/Sorrow (Demo)
19. Cubicles (Demo)
The MCR album is for my daughter for Christmas. She wanted all of their albums but I just went with the one since I doubt it will get played too much. Pantera I was pretty torn over also as it is a big let down to have so few songs on there. One is a gift and the other is for me but I'm debating on whether to keep it. Figured I would buy now and can return later if I change my mind. G'N'R GH is also a gift as I have AFD and Use Your Illusion I & II already on vinyl.

Re: BLACK FRIDAY/HOLIDAY - 2022 Haul Thread
Yeah, same here in Canada. No actual flyer but they website says SALE ON NOW but, really, not seeing anything at sale price. I've been following certain LG and Sony TVs (from 2021) as well as a 4k player since the spring and, if anything, they are higher in price or only $100 off (sales in spring were better). Inflation?

Yes, the WalMart exclusives are all $15 through 11/20. The most desired titles are nowhere to be found, though I guarantee the moment the sale ends, they'll all miraculously be back in stock.
I managed to get:
THE ROLLING STONES Hot Rocks
QUEEN A Night At The Opera
QUEEN Sheer Heart Attack
THIRD EYE BLIND Third Eye Blind
Also got on 4K:
Jurassic World Dominion
Spider-Man No Way Home

Target's Black Friday ad is finally out.
Looks like they don't have movies on sale outside of a general "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" sale on movies, books, and music.

So, yes, nothing like previous years with huge shippers and a smorgasbord of titles, and it probably won’t return to that way ever. Target did a lame B2G1 for the 2nd year in a row, and Best Buy’s breadth of selection was reduced this year.

Picked up Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (BD+DVD+Digital) at Walmart, and Eternals (Cinematic Universe Editon 4K+BD+Digital), Spider-Man: No Way Home (BD+DVD+Digital), & Moonfall (BD+DVD+Digital) at Best Buy, all with slipcovers. That's about the extent of my Black Friday this year.
