In the extra saving department -- the first of the Holiday Gift Card deals is live online and I'll assume in store. Good through 11/22 which I assume would mean a slightly different often better deal for BF or BF week.

Buy $100 GC, get $10 Bonus GC. Online this will be delivered Dec 10 and have no expiration date and limit one per acct. In the past the Bonus Cards were delayed until Dec 26 and had a 2-3 months expiration though it
wasn't that had to manipulate it to be no expiration. I'll assume in-store they hand you a special GC that doesn't activate until Dec 10 and most stores don't restrict you to one.

I didn’t want to bother with an online order but we happened to go to Oak Brook mall today so I went in and grabbed Incredible Shrinking Man and some Blade Runner TPBs.

My copy of Love and Basketball arrived this past Saturday. It took 5 days to arrive. Probably one of the faster turnarounds I've had with BN. Now waiting for my pre-order of the Once Upon a Time in China set.

Picked up a copy of Melvin Van Peebles: Essential Films at a B&N near where I work.

Managed to find one that wasn't in spider-wrapped, so I was pretty excited about that.

I was happy that the particular store I stopped by had all copies behind the counter without spider-wraps!

I would assume that if they wanted to do that, they would have been included in the BD set or release same day/date as the BD set.

Picked up the 4K UHDs of Uncut Gems (2019) & Menace II Society (1993) this evening.

My local store didn't have Mulholland Dr. (2001) sadly.

Any place where Canadians can order Criterions at 50% off? I have a few I'd like, but I balk at the regular cost.

Sort of, but not really.

Criterion.com has a 50% off sale twice a year (24 Hour Flash Sales) and does ship to Canada, but the shipping cost is high enough it makes it not really a sale.
Unobstructed View usually runs sales on their Criterions around the same time as B&N and maybe Flash Sales, but I think 40% is their max and it seems like not every item is included, but no import fees and no exchange rate issues.
The last I heard was Free Shipping at $100. I'm sure some of the local Canadian will pop in with more pertinent information

Amazon.com usually matches B&N sales (not Criterion Flash sales), but I'm not sure of their international shipping costs now or whether Criterions are blocked for shipping outside
the US like so many other Amazon items at any international site.

Feb 22 or March 1 are the 2 most likely dates for the next Criterion.com sale.
