Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

There's a few things I wouldn't mind getting:

Transformers: The Last Knight 4K UHD

War for the Planet of the Apes 4K UHD

Alien: Covenant 4K UHD

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales 4K UHD

Baywatch BD $8.99

Lego Batman BD: $6.99

I have a question, if your a member of the Games Club, will you be able to get the extra discount on top of the Black Friday price.

I wouldn't mind getting Assassins Creed Origin and Forza 7 for the extra discount on top of the $34.99

I've dropped by Best Buy the last couple of years on Thanksgiving day when they open and I'm usually able to find everything I want in 1 trip. I think last year I spent about $180. Hopefully I can restrain myself to that or less. I held off on getting a bunch of things hoping for a better price and I'm also trying to not get stuff I'll never watch again like TV on DVD that I already saw week to week.

BTW, I looked in the ad and there doesn't appear to be much TV on Blu. Mostly TV on DVD.

Ugh, I'm a little pissed at myself for getting Wonder Woman and The Fate of the Furious 4K too soon after it's release when I could have waited until now. Oh well, I liked them enough to get them that soon, but the $9.99 price is so awesome.

Also, I just bought a Nvidia Shield Android TV box with game controller from Best Buy a few days ago for $199. It's an awesome device BTW. It's now on sale in the Ad for $169. I should be able to purchase the discounted box for that price and then just return it with my old receipt with no issues? I saw on the receipt that I have 30 days to return stuff being a Best Buy Elite member (for now) Can't believe it got discounted for Black Friday.

Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

I think I recall a conversation with someone just a few weeks ago about being able to pick up Wonder Woman much cheaper before the year was out.

Lots of good deals at BB.

Yeah I know I was thinking the BD would drop around there. I wasn't expecting the 4K UHD to drop to $10.

Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

I was hoping they would have more of the Harry Potter SEs; looks only films 1, 7, and 8 are listed. Hopefully Walmart or Target has the other five.

In for Skull Island, Mockingjay Pt. 2, Arrival, Logan (possibly), The Martian (possibly), and Walking Dead S4(possibly). Was hoping to see American Gods on the list.

Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

I found both the music & movie selection to be pathetic. The one that really made me go wow, was the complete Wonder Woman on DVD for $58.99. I paid $3.00 for what appears to me to have been an earlier release of the same set (I know longer have it, so there may be differences I'm not aware of) at Big Lots a few years back when they had the huge BF box set blowout.

Their literally isn't a single film in that add that interests me. Perhaps if I did 4k I'd feel differently, but with my eyesite unless both my 55" TV & my Oppo blu-ray go out, I don't see myself going their. The older I get, the less the latest & greatest appeals to me.

Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

Best Buy added wording into their terms last year where GCU is no longer allowed on BF prices. I don't remember whether it was allowed for Elite early access or not last year. But they do have a couple of BF game items already available and they do have GCU pricing.

Disappointed Ash Vs. Season 2 is only showing the dvd as being on sale. I remember picking up the BD rather cheap from them last year. Hopefully it along with S7 of The Walking Dead BD's will be on sale despite not being shown.

I had forgotten about that wrinkle. Makes the video game discounts less significant in many cases. The switch game I was looking at looks like it's going to be $10 off on BF, but really only ends up being $2 cheaper than if I bought it today with my GCU discount.

Anyway, thanks for the reminder darkdaze!

Well, kinda. Often those games are priced like that in a BF preview sale or something and then the discount does apply.

I really want Wonder Woman in 3D, but I wouldn't mind double dipping if I nab the UHD for only $10.

Just looked at the full listing. I might end up purchasing the 3D versions of Lego Batman and Suicide Squad as well.

Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

Yay, I was hoping BB would have some 4K titles on sale and it looks like they delivered, bigly. I just hope that they are well stocked...last year the 4K titles that were actually on sale were picked clean from the shelves. Question, if I haunt the website starting at 12:01 am Thursday morning (so technically Thanksgiving day) do you think I have a shot at grabbing them on-line?

All of these titles will repeatedly go on sale in the month leading into Christmas - the best deals are mostly to be had the week before Christmas, historically. And there's been no issues with BB's online ordering with these sale prices, for a good number of years now.

Best Buy usually starts their sales around 1:00am est. I have had very little problem getting what I want online provided they don't make it an in-store only type item.

I believe it's at 2:00 AM EST on Thursday. Last year, I was able to get every item I wanted online at that time, and didn't have to go into the store.

Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

I have five movies on my list and BB might have me covered on all of them:

GotG2
John Wick 2
Baby Driver
Moana
Logan

Looks like they're all pretty cheap(4k or otherwise).

Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

Best Buy by far has the most attractive Black Friday deals. That is worrisome since media hounds will all congregate there and create more competition for the discs.

Re: Best Buy -- Black Friday 2017 Ad

I'd agree that BB has the most attractive ad, but there are always the unadvertised deals, and those can be as good. Like how last year Target had several of the WB shows for $15, but never advertised them. Can't guarantee the same this year of course, but I'm hopeful.

Do you, or the others here, have any idea of how long popular title stock will last online?

I'm interested in the $6.99 Wonder Woman BD and some other titles. But I'll be away from home and might not be able to follow the deals closely.
