Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I know I keep saying the same thing, but how can "they" (the industry in general) keep telling us that physical media is dead & raise the price through the ceiling in the same breath? I'm NOT blaming Hamilton, like any sane retailer they set a markup % over wholesale & stick with it. I am 100% blaming the manufacturers & wholesalers.

There are a bunch of price drops this month too. I'm looking at Flight to Mars and Hercules and the Captive Women in particular.

The pricier titles at Hamilton are almost always boutique releases, and I wouldn't expect such niche titles to go for bargain prices when the market is so small. But for physical media, I'd expect an inelastic curve. People who've moved on from physical media aren't coming back, no matter how low the prices are. If the market's small, if lowering prices won't garner a substantially bigger audience, and if what little an audience is left is passionate enough to keep paying for it, I mean, it makes sense. I sure wouldn't mind if things cost less, but...

Thanks, but if it wasn't for Covid, I'd pick up for instance "Return Of The Vampire" at a pawn sop for $1.50 instead of $15 on the net!

I'm sure I got my DVD brand new for well under $10.

I would assume that because less people are buying, they need to keep the prices up to keep a profit. The prices are not terrible, but I picked up some of these from Dollar Tree.
HB also cleaned up their wishlist section. It looks muuuuch better. You can see the dvd images on your wishlists for the last month or two and it sorts better. I might pick up some from my wishlist that I forgot about.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Nothing for me this time around all though I did see a few that I might be interested in, which is okay as I spent a small fortune last month on movies and books from HB.

VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA: Season One, Volume One - DVD $7 also Vol. 2 is $7

BLINDSPOT: The Complete First Season - DVD $6

New Price Drop List. Some good stuff, though the Kino's are over priced. I plan to make a purchase this time.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Does anyone know if the Shout Factory Return Of The Vampire blu is much of an upgrade over the Columbia dvd? Hamilton has the lowest price I've seen at $15 + tax & shipping, but that still seems high for a film that was inexpensive & easy to find on dvd.

I got everything except the Ronson. It must have sold out fast, as I ordered when the email arrived.

Thanks for the post! Only one of interest to me so far, especially at these prices. I put it in my cart, see if it's around for the next order.

Nabbed The Curse/Curse 2. It’s random how they get some OOP Screams occasionally. I got Poltergeist 2 and Texas Chainsaw 2 last year as well
