Well, that would be nice if the packages arrived in half the time.

This order was quicker than usual for Kino for me also. Already finished watching the entire batch.

MisterLime was posting over on Bluray some for the sale stats.

Top 30 items (Lifeboat and Paradine Case top 2)
Biggest orders,etc.

Largest single order was double 2nd place -- 271 items - $2800.
Nobody over there is claiming it though I think a couple of the Top 5 are international posters there

He also wandered back into the Good/Bad/Ugly thread after staying out of it for 2+ months and it got bad and real ugly fast.

You should contact them. A large order I placed on 8/3 shipped yesterday.

It wouldn't surprise me if a small retailer made that order, particularly outside the USA.

That was the suspicion though that seems a bit risky for much of the Kino catalog -- outside the US you'd have to be very sure of your customs charges if you plan on making much money off of it. International collectors possibly though they'd have to use a re-shipper agent outside of Canada.

Australia the last I heard had a max $1000 custom free per package so if they had reassurance that the packages could be split up that might work.
It sound like even Kino can only ship max 120 or 150 in a single box

There is no way I'd place an order that was 30 titles or more, and gambling the package wouldn't be completely thrashed, slashed, and smashed when it arrived on my doorstep.

I might get that top spot if they ever have another sale like this. The Criterion sale has been taking most of my attention. I'm over 100 of them at my local BN so far.

Could someone ask that Kino guy over on the BR forum to try and schedule sales around Arrow and Criterion instead of getting hit with all of them at once!

Please, let's not give them any ideas.

I don't think my wallet could take it.

I suspect all these boutique labels run these sales as a way to clear out inventory before Labor Day and clean up their books for the fiscal year.

If they really wanted to maximize total sales, they would be better off using a more strategic window than the dead of summer.

My orders came today and several movies were missing. None of them were pre-sale.

Were they marked Backordered on the invoice? I had one item marked specifically and a couple others mentioned the same -- Pink Highlighter on the packing slip with handwritten "Backordered". If not, obviously contact KL and let the replace the missing items.

One poster at Bluray got 1/2 and order by mistake and things were corrected pretty quickly if I remember.

well, at least everyone seems to be getting something. My order of 7/21 still hasn't shipped and they haven't responded to my 2 emails... I got my other order today with 2 missing titles, but they were clearly marked back order... not sure what is going on with my 7/21 order - that was the one with the Bob Hope films.

You could try phone. The 212 number seems to be more reliable and see if it's just a delayed shipment for items or if they just forgot it,

I don't mind summer sales because I remember when home video releases (DVD/BD) were nonexistent during the summer and most of us were just waiting for the Fall. I just wished they wouldn't run them all within the same small time frame in July. We do have June, July, and August and I believe all three companies would benefit.

The boutique brands having sales during the summer probably work better for them because the studios push more sales around Black Friday.

In the very least, I wish BN would space out the Criterion sales a little more, as the wait after the next one is pretty long.

Question on Order Status: If you checked out without creating an account, is there any way to check order status ? TIA

Edit: Never mind. Just saw this bit in the order confirmation email 'Registered customers may check status of their orders by logging in and visiting https://www.kinolorber.com/account/orders. This does not apply to orders placed via guest checkout.'

You could try to input you order number in the FedEx tracking. Otherwise calling is likely your best alternative

Under Track by Reference
Enter Order Number
Choose Country
Choose Delivery Zip code.

The ship date doesn't always seem to matter much.

I received a package today with several items backordered. Of course one of the titles I wanted to watch tonight wasn't in the package that arrived. Oh well. Plenty of other options.

Backordered items for those keeping score:

Lifeboat
Marty
Paradine Case
Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
Those Redheads from Seattle
Witness for the Prosecution
